That' not exactly true. 1080p is up converted but I would think it of as1080p on steroids. It is still 1080p but with more information.

Basically what this unit does is splits the screen in half making it 2K on one side and 2K on the other. Then the glasses combine those images making it a 3D image. So technically it doesn't up convert but you are still viewing a 2K image verses a regular 1080p image.

Question

Is it possible to turn off the some of the 4k filters on the tv

Whenever i hook up my ps4 or any console there is an interval of lag between the movement of the stick and the movement of the character on the screen. It is small but it is enough to impede some aspects of gaming. I would like to know if i can possibly shut some of the motors off.

We regret the inconvenience you have experienced with this television. This TV has not been built with any motors or filters that would affect a game system. It is recommended to check the system to see if there are any adjustments available to improve the synchronization between the player and the TV.

Question

can i set up the audio to pkay through both, tv speakers and external speakers?

I was able to do this in other model of TVs but I can't find the option for this TV. I want to leave it ready so I just turn on my receiver when watching a movie and leave it off when watching regular tv without having to go back to the settings every time.

I apologize, but no; this television has not been designed to play through both the Internal and External speakers simultaneously. The Audio Output settings are designed to deactivate the internal speakers in order to route the audio to the external system.

We appreciate your interest in this television and its capabilities. At this time, there is no option available for this TV model to have the HDMI 2.0 connections. A hardware upgrade is being developed and should be released within the next few months. Feel free to check back for availability of this change.

Why would I want to buy a 4k TV that from your answers will never have native 4k capability?

This answer section made my final decision on purchasing this. Without upgradability to HDMI 2.0 I can't justify purchasing it.

We appreciate your interest in this television. The settings for the Factory Default settings are those optimal configurations for the TV itself. However, the best image can vary according to the room in which it is being viewed. As such, the settings should be set according to your personal preference.

Question

Audio from TV not playing on AV Receiver speakers

i just installed my new LG 65LA9650 TV along with my new Onkyo TX-NR626 A/V Receiver. The audio for my content from the LG TV does not play on the speaker system connected to the A/V Receiver, it plays only on the TV speaker.
The audio works fine on the external speakers for my dish TV content.
My Monster HDMI cable is connected to the HDMI ports on the TV and A/V Receiver that support ARC.
Is there any activation needed on my TV to enable ARC and have the TV audio play on the external speakers ?

Thanks

We regret the inconvenience you have experienced with this television. From the description given, it seems that the INTERNAL TV SPEAKERS have not been deactivated in the AUDIO menu. This must be done in order to send the audio signal out to the external system.

We regret the inconvenience you have experienced with this television. The frame rate has nothing to do with the TruMotion feature. The frame rate, for this TV model, is 240Hz. The TruMotion is simply in place to smooth the transitions between the frames. This function is not controllable through the online content.

Question

Does my current TV support 4K HEVC streaming (ala Netflix)

None of these 2013 models has native HDMI 2.0 support, but LG has indicated a hardware upgrade for this and to support 4K HEVC streaming (ala Netflix) is to be released in September 2014 for ~$400 which includes installation by LG techs.

This was an excerpt from a post about the 55LA9650. Is my TV capable of doing what is mentioned in the above post?

My Serial Number is 402KCXMAG826
I was told that my TV was made in February of 2014 and it is HDMI 2.0 compatible or will I need to upgrade in Sept?

We appreciate your interest in this television. No indication is noted, in your post, as to what model is actually owned; rather only referring to that which was referenced in a previous post. Also, we cannot determine yet, what the price of the upgrade will be, as we still have no indication of the actual cost of the needed part, nor do we have any control over technician pricing. Please contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000 for information on this matter.

Question

Does the 4K 55LA9650 support the FIOS app under smart apps?

If I login to the LG APPS page on a PC and find the FIOS App I am unable to see if it works on this model without registering the TV and I haven't bought one yet, I am registered on LG APPS with a 47LW5700 which doesn't support the app.. I have TiVo recorders and not a Verizon FIOS recorder and the app will give me access to extra video content. Samsung apps do have a FIOS app on their 4K TV and oriiginally LG did support the app but something changed and I want to be sure it will be available on this set.
