No, not a 3D TV. Not sure about the details of the product cycle. This is a new TV for 2013, but not sure of the exact date of release or of any planned replacement.

It's not a 3D TV, and it's a 2013 model so its a new product in the lifecycle. It's basically a 60PM6700 without the 3D.

I'm looking for Amazon Instant as well and don't see it. Some other posts online suggested it is now available (as of 9/1), but even after a firmware upgrade it still isn't there. Is there an update as to when it will be available?

Will the LG 60PN5700 natively Amazon Prime Instant Video?

No, it's not cable card ready.

To the other person who answered, it does NOT matter if it's "digital" ready. All U.S. cable companies require an authentication device nowadays. You can't just plug the coax cable into the TV from the wall. So, you either need a set top box, a smaller digital adapter, or a cable card inserted.

Question

Screen is Freezing as if in pause

What do you think is the cause for the image freezing while the audio still continues? We just hooked it all up last night and the picture kept stopping while the voices where still talking away. We then double checked all the connections and even reconnected our old LG and the old one had no problem. Directv says all signals are ok. Could we have a defective TV?

Most common causes of this is overheating or video processing malfunction. You could have a TV problem, but it is hard to say for sure. There could be a signal problem form the DTV box, and it may need an update or replacement. Cheapest option to try is by replacing the cable that connects from DTV to your TV.

We regret the inconvenience you have experienced with this television. If a different television, in the same location with the same wires, does not experience the same problem, then it would seem that this new TV may have a video processor problem. Video options have this feature, and saves the setting per input you use. There are several modes, but each one has its own setting for these levels. You have to dig them out of the settings menu under the top video option; also, it is where you will find the "true motion" options that speed up the video to get the 600hz you are told about.

We regret your dissatisfaction with this plasma television. To adjust the appearance of the image, it is recommended to press the SETTINGS button, in order to locate the PICTURE menu. This PICTURE menu should provide access to a BRIGHTNESS option that can be adjusted. This will be the only method for increasing the brightness of the whites on the screen.

You have to dig into the settings of the video modes, and the 600hz modes are used for external input modes.

You have to find the "true motion" option when you can. The audio/video options will have this. So when you watch Netflix, then this is not an option, although, when playing a game console you can set the "true motion" to a desired level (mine is maxed, and looks amazing!) Basically, this mode is not always available, and when it is, you still have to set it up yourself. (it's not an all the time thing)

This television has been designed with a 1080p / 600Hz screen. If the display is stating 60Hz, this is simply stating the format and resolution being received from the signal source. The screen will still be processing the image at 600Hz and 1080p.

Look up the way to scan through IR channels with the remote and company that owns it. There is a way to set the remote to go through all of its potential codes by placing into a mode that checks a new code with each press of the power button. I used to do that all the time.

All codes to be used for programming the Universal remote control will be located in the setup instructions for the Controller. If you have experienced trouble in locating codes for LG, you may also try using Zenith or Goldstar codes, as some of these coincide with LG frequencies.

This is a difficult question that mostly depends on your router's signal, channel, or particular configuration. The TV itself, model 60PN5700, has it's own WiFi; meaning you shouldn't need the dongle, and using one might be the problem. Sorry if this doesn't help, but there are too many issues with make, models, and settings of routers.

I have a friend that had this problem because of mismatched cables. My suggestion is to get two high quality cables, and use the "magnetic" attachment that cleans up the signal.

Another problem could be because the soundbar's passthrough has an issue or is simply incompatible. There are some options, but in the end you will have to get creative; possibly lose quality.

Digital converter for the optical out would be the quickest way. With a converter you can run all sound to the soundbar, then you wouldn't need to pass through.

We regret the inconvenience you have experienced with this television. If this Sound Bar is connected to the HDMI1, and your game system is connected to a separate INPUT port, then it would be expected not to see the game system if the INPUT setting is HDMI1. The input setting must be to that port to which the game system is connected in order to view the video signal.
