'Cold' is straight out of your well or water system. 'Tap Cold' is sometimes heated slightly so the water isn't frigid, as it is when it comes out of our well.

answer 2
The COLD water cycles tend to add some HOT water to the cycle in order to regulate the COLD water temperature. This is based on the clothing manufacturer’s recommendations for water temperatures. The TAP COLD setting runs the water through the COLD water line only. This is the difference between the COLD and TAP COLD settings.

I recently purchased the LG 4.5 Capacity Smart Washer and want to know if other customers have problems with the UE message with small loads?

Having used the unit on several occassions, we have had at least three UE messages on the smaller loads which is very frustrating.

I get it all the time. I think the wave motion shifts the clothes and then the machine unbalances. This is my biggest complaint with the machine.

We regret the trouble you have experienced with this washing machine. The UE error code suggests that the wash load has gotten out of balance. This can certainly occur if a load is too small, allowing the materials to gather more to one side. Try adding more garments to balance the load.

That's the normal load sensing to judge how much water will be needed before it starts running. Only spends a minute or two sensing the size of the load, then it will fill to the appropriate level.

We appreciate your interest in this washing machine. Not all loads will have water flowing from the top of the wash tub. Some are designed to fill from the bottom. This is normal. If the unit is still washing the fabrics, then the unit is operating normally. If you have additional questions about this matter, please contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000.

It is on the warranty/registration card that's like a postcard to mail in. I of course registered online, but took that card and found the serial number then wrote it on the user books and kept the registration card. Or, it's on the back of the washer. (Not a good place in case you want to pull the machine out.)

We appreciate your interest in this washing machine. The label, on this product, can be found in one of two locations; either just inside the washer lid, or on the back of the cabinet, near the top of the unit. Both the model number and the serial number should be found on the same label.

Question

Is it possible to wash a down comforter in this machine?

I've tried it in a conventional agitator top-loader, and since it's down feathers, it always floats to the top of the washer and only half of it really touches the water/is cleaned. Will I have the same issues with this washer?

Although LG says NO, due to unbalancing issues, I have had luck using the following procedure for similar items. Select BULKY/BEDDING that provides the most water in tub. Select your preferences for all other options EXCEPT select NO SPIN. When machine stops remove all items and shake off excess water. I place an old bath towel on the floor to catch any water drippings. I place all items back in washer, including the floor towel, balancing all sides based on wet weight. Select SPIN ONLY. Dry items as clothing label states. You will be pleased with results.

Select the "Speed Wash" cycle if you want to use it like an old-fashioned low-capacity, high-water-level machine.

The time saving from using it as a high-efficiency machine comes in total laundry time, not in per-load time. This washer allows you to load huge amounts of laundry and have it spin dry enough to take less drying time. Use the delay wash feature to plan when you want to move it to the dryer.

Question

What is the distance from the back of the washer to the back edge of the lid?

I have a shallow cabinet that overhangs the washer/dryer space in my kitchen. My current washer's lid when fully open sits only a couple of inches in front of this cabinet. I'm concerned that the lid on the WT1201CV(W) washer might sit farther back than the washer I currently have.

I haven't been able to find this model on display to measure.

6-1/4" from center back to center back of lid, where the top is the deepest. Lid is 17" tall in center when open, 14-1/2" tall with the ventilation panel flipped down and the lid open (taller on sides, but less than 17").

I have this washer and the height (with the top up) was a concern to me because I have cabinets above it. It is a taller washer. I stand about 38" from bottom to top (not counting the display panel at back of product. the back distance from back of washer to back edge of lid is about 6-7 inches and the lid itself is about 19 1/2 inches tall. I cannot fully open mine because of the cabinets above so I have improvised and use a very small bungy cord with S hooks that latches to cabinet door and hole/opening at bottom of washer lid front. Hope this helps!

Question

Rinse, How many times does to squirt new water to rinse?

Last night we did a test run and we watched through the window the wash cycle then when it went to rinse all it did was spin every so once in a while. I finally gave up watching it and wondered why it didn't squirt during this process. at 22 minutes or so I quit watching. Hopefully a techie can answer this...as I don't expect any of you really stood and watched the whole process like I tried to do. I just want to make sure it rinsed the way it should have.
I also posted this question on the grafite color machine Q&A...as I see there are different questions for either machine. Same model differnt color.

We regret the trouble you have experienced with this washing machine. If the weight of the fabric is insufficient to take it beneath the water level, either the water level is insufficient, caused by too much content, or perhaps a different cycle should be used, such as the BULKY/BEDDING cycle. If this does not resolve the matter, please contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000.

We regret your dissatisfaction with the operations of this washing machine. If you do not like the condition in which the washer leaves the clothing, you may choose to reduce the spin speed. Check the water lines on the unit. HOT water is known to set wrinkles. As this washer uses a COLD cycle rinse, if the lines are reversed, then it will be difficult to remove such wrinkles.

Fabric softener is dispensed during the final rinse. This washer is designed to save rinse water by using the JET SPRAY Rinse System (SMARTRINSE) in the COTTON/NORMAL and HEAVY DUTY cycles. Pressing the FABRIC SOFTENER button redirects the flow of water from the JET SPRAY Rinse to the Fabric Softener dispenser. This information can be found on page 26 of the owner’s manual. That which has been described is normal operation.
