Question

Reset Password Option

I bought the 47LM4700 from Fry's as an open box. When I tried to add channels it brought up the password dialog box. Is there a default password or password override I can use? I can't even reset the TV to its Initial Settings.

We appreciate your interest in this television. The default lock codes are typically either 0-0-0-0 or 7-7-7-7. For additional information on this matter, check the USER GUIDE feature on your TV. Press the HOME button, and then select the SETTINGS icon at the bottom of the screen. Select the SUPPORT tab, on the left of the screen, and scroll down to USER GUIDE. Once this has been selected, scroll down to OPTION. Information about the TV LOCK OPTION will be found here.

The sound bar does not attach to the bottom of the television. The sound bar has feet to sit on a tv stand and it comes with wall brackets so that you can mount the sound bar on a wall.

We appreciate your interest in this television and sound bar. The Sound Bar is not designed to connect to the bottom of the television. It was issued with a mounting bracket to attach directly to the wall, should you choose to do so. The devices do not connect other than with the OPTICAL Digital Audio cable.

Question

Is this TV ever going to be able to play movies with DTS Audio?

I was able to figure out thay the reason I cannot play my DTS audio movies is because LG only included the license with the TV they sell in Korea and Europe, but not USA. Why? and if there is ever going to be a firmware update to include it in the near future?

3D mode prompt when turning TV on

Every time we turn our TV on, we get the little pop up box asking if we want to watch TV in 3D mode...and if we don't exit out of it fast enough, it just automatically switches to 3D mode. Is there a way to stop this box from popping up every time we turn the TV on?

While the TV is on (after you X out of the 3-D) press the 3D button on remote. The first space on the window that opens says ON press down says OFF, that is for when the TV is powered on the next time. Place it on OFF, that will stop it from happening when you power up for the first time of the day...

We regret the inconvenience you have experienced with this television and its features. This particular feature is the “3D-On-Start Setting”. Press the HOME button on your remote control. Select the SETTINGS icon. On the PICTURE menu, select the option for 3D SETTINGS. The first option is the “3D-On-Start Setting”. Set this option to the OFF setting. This should resolve the matter for you.

Question

How do I access the 120hz Trumotion option?

Other LG Trumotion televisions that I have used in the store have the Trumotion option in the menu to adjust( low, med, high, off). This TV says 120hz Truemotion on the box but there is no option in the menu. Is there something maybe I am missing?

We appreciate your interest in this television and its features. Many product models will have the TruMotion feature automatically active, with no menu options for further adjustment. The LM4700 series is likely one of these models that does not have the option to modify the settings. This is normal operation.

When I bought the 47lm4700 there were no reviews as well. This is a new model out only a month or so as of 12/2/2012. The best comparison I can make is to the 47LM6200 minus the wifi, browser, apps, magic remote, and dual play. Software can be upgraded via USB port.

How do I connect headphones (Or PC Audio) to the tv?

Question

LAN Port

This TV has the ability to connect to the Internet for firmware updates. Yet, it has no apps like YouTube, Netflix, etc...

Is there any talk of adding Apps to a firmware update? Not really sure of the point of connecting it to the Internet if there are no apps to use on it.

Thanks, Love the TV.

We appreciate your interest in this television and its features. The connection of this television to a router is for the purpose of software updates, when needed, and for DLNA File Sharing from your home computer network. This includes photo files, audio files, and video files that may be stored on the home computer. There are no plans to update this TV to access other online content. If such functionality is desired, it would be recommended to check about the SP520 Smart TV Upgrader. This device is designed to allow a HDMI-enabled non-Smart TV to access the Smart TV features. Additional information about this device can be found on our website at http://www.lg.com/us/blu-ray-player....

I don't believe the TV can control the sound bar volume. You can control the sound bar volume directly from the tv remote as the sound bar has its own section on the tv remote. You also get a smaller separate sound bar remote as well.
