You can open it to the right or switch it and open it to the left...depending which side your washer is on to make it easier to transfer clothes. It doesn't not fold down..just left or right.

I purchased this dryer 6 weeks ago and I also tried to open it by pulling it down the first couple of times. It is a little deceiving but mine does open to the right and if you want to you can reverse it to open to the left. It really is a great dryer!

Yes, it does open to the side... and reversible means that you can change the hinges - so if needed, the door can open to the other side :)

The Sales Representative was correct. We do not recommend the use of dryer sheets in our washing machines as the fibers being pulled off the sheets can form a layer on the moisture sensors and not allow proper operation of the unit. If fabric softener is needed, we recommend using a liquid fabric softener in the appropriate compartment in the LG washing machine.

alternative venting / DLE1101W manual

I need to see installation diagrams for dryer DLE1101W, especially for side and bottom alternatives for vent. There is no information on your website and the manual and instructions are not listed in the "manuals" section. I would also like to know recommended clearances for space between washer + dryer. I used a periscope style vent from the dryer's center bottom outlet to my house vent line off to the end of the dryer. It required about 2.5 inches of space to the rear of the dryer. Air flow is very good with this arrangement.

On the washer side of the dryer I have a half inch of clearance between them - no problems.

I have very little space between washer and dryer. They seem very solid and don't move at all when in operation, It appears that there is an area for a side vent, but I use the back vent. Do not see anything for a bottom vent.

I have had this happen also...and I just took it out again and then put it back and the filter light went out. Someone told me that if you use fabric sheets in your dryer....you should wash the filter with soap and water once a month...because the softener in the sheets gets built up on the filter.I make sure it's dry before putting back in dryer.

Why do a get an error message that the vent is blocked? My house is new construction and there is no way the vent can be blocked.

DLE1101W is my model number. The dryer was working perfectly for 2 months. Now I continue to get an error message that the vent is blocked. It is not blocked. Is this an issue with other customers? what can I do to fix this. The dryer runs for 10 minutes and then shuts off with the error message.

We had this message when we hooked up the machine. Our ducts were quite clogged with lint. As soon as we cleared it the machine was all good. Is is possible that the new construction wasn't done properly? We did find an issue with our duct installation when we went to clean it out.

We regret the trouble you have experienced with this dryer. Check to ensure the lint filter is clear. Check the exhaust duct. If these are both clear, then there may be something further in the house ductwork. If this is not the case, then they dryer may require service. To make service arrangements, you may either contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000, or you can check our Repair Provider Lookup on our website, at http://www.lg.com/us/support/repair....

We appreciate your interest in this electrical dryer. Yes, it does support a side vent. An adapter kit, part number 383EEL9001B, may be purchased from your local LG Appliance retailer. This kit contains the necessary duct components to change the dryer vent location. Press the adapter duct onto the blower housing and secure it to the base of the dryer. Insert the 4” elbow through the rear opening and press it onto the adapter duct. Be sure that the male end of the elbow faces down through the hole in n the bottom of the dryer. Secure it in place with duct tape. Finally, attach the cover plate to the back of the dryer with the provided screw. Diagrams can be shown on page 16 of the owner’s manual.
