We appreciate your interest in this television. This model is designed with TOUCH BUTTONS located on the lower right hand corner of the TV frame. From left to right, you should find \/ /\ -- + OK SETTINGS INPUT and POWER. All of the buttons are touch sensitive and can be operated through simple touch with your finger.
I, like so many other people here, am very disappointed in LG for misleading us about the specifications of the TruMotion technology. Why would the setting be factory-enabled to "Low" and not allow the consumer to change the setting? That was a mistake, and I believe with the numerous comments here regarding this feature someone from LG should be able to assist all of us who purchased this TV under the guise of having a 120HZ television. I would like a response from an LG staff member who can tell us what the possible solutions are to this problem. (Firmware update??) It seems like we may have just purchased a fairly expensive 60Hz television rather than a reasonably priced 120Hz television.. Which is highly disconcerting. Please fix this LG.
Like you and many others who purchased this television, I am very disappointed by the 120hz claim. As the old adage succinctly says: "People lie." I suppose it also applies to multinational conglomerate corporation. However, instead of admitting it, they elect to double down with more lies--insisting that the tv is "factory enable to low" and cannot be changed. My conclusion is that the 120hz is set so low, it's gone down to 60hz.
We regret your displeasure in the design of this television. The TruMotion feature has nothing at all to do with the refresh rate of the display panel. Whether the unit has TruMotion set to High, Low, Medium or Off, the panel will still provide a 120 Hz refresh rate. The TruMotion feature is simply in place to allow processing to the signal to smooth frame transitions. We have no indication that any updates will be developed to add adjustment options to this feature.
This Tv is not Wi Fi ready ! I decided to not buy a smart Tv but to save the money and pair it up with a Wi Fi Blue ray player for streaming video. There are other streaming devices on the market you can use with this TV as well.
Glossy. They have not answered my Question about Video games. I play video games that have stuff that stays on the screen for almost the whole time you play.

What are the black levels? and does this include a menu option for true motion?
I've looked and looked and i can't find specs on what the black levels are and I've noticed that other tvs with truemotion have a setting to turn it off and on. I ask this because the video still looks very blurry when the screen is panning or theres lots of movement.
The TruMotion feature is supposed to be located on the PICTURE menu. Access the PICTURE MODE list, and scroll down to the ADVANCED CONTROL settings. What TruMotion options are available should be here.

We appreciate your interest in this television. This TV has been designed to send out its audio signal by way of the OPTICAL Digital Audio Output jack. Your external audio system must have a matching Input jack in order to be compatible with this unit.

optical audio out
I have two devices with HDMI cables. One is the Blue Ray DVD player and the other is the DirecTV. I'd like to use an external sound bar that only has one HDMI input/output and an optical video input. So...I'd like send both HDMIs to the LG LS4500 and then send the optical out to the sound bar. My question is: if I do that will ALL sound be redirected to the sound bar and not to the TV? Is the TV smart enough to do that?
Yes, this is how this television has been designed. The OPTICAL cable and ports will ONLY carry an AUDIO signal between the TV and the SOUND BAR. Once the BluRay player and Satellite receiver has been connected with the HDMI cables, access the AUDIO menu on the TV. Deactivate the TV SPEAKER setting. This will route the audio through the OPTICAL Digital Audio Output connection to the Sound Bar.
There are no options currently to adjust any aspect of TruMotion for this device. Yet other devices that have TruMotion do have a setting available. Will this be fixed soon, or is there another reason why it doesn't seem to be working properly. I have been looking everywhere for this answer. I love this TV, but I mainly got it because I was impressed with how this feature worked. Again, all other models have an option to adjust this, yet this one does not currently.
We appreciate your interest in this television and its features. Many product models will have the TruMotion feature automatically active, with no menu options for further adjustment. The LS4500 series is likely one of these models that does not have the option to modify the settings. This is normal operation.
