When adjusting the rear legs of the dishwasher, use a Phillips #2 screwdriver to make the adjustments. To raise the back of the dishwasher, lower the legs by turning the screw in the direction of the arrow printed on the base of the unit. To lower the rear of the dishwasher, turn the screw in the opposite direction. The right and left side rear adjustments are opposite of each other. This information can be found on page 10 of the Installation Guide provided with this dishwasher. If this does not help, then you may need to seek the assistance of a professional installer.

Question

Water Spots

I just had my dishwasher installed in January, and no matter where I put them I get water spots on my glasses. They are clearly spots where the rack is touching the glass, and look like they may also have residue from the detergent or the Finish rinse. What am I doing wrong? I'm feel like I'm losing my mind, and getting really frustrated, I must be missing something. In the meantime, I'm ruining my glasses.

I switched to liquid Cascade and don't fill the soap cup all the way full. There is also an adjustment on the amount of rinsing agent that is dispensed. It is located on the opening where you add the rinsing agent. I've set my machine to use a second rinse. Also make sure nothing is hindering the spray arms from turning.

You are doing nothing wrong! I have the same problem. I am so disappointed in this washer I can feel the soapy residue & my dishes are always still dripping with water after the extremly long cycle no matter which one I put it on. My old on the verge of breaking down washer did a better job than this one!!

I am sorry to hear you are having trouble with your dishwasher. Maybe it is your detergent? Have you tried a different kind? Are you using the rinse agent? Those are the only things I could think of. I have not had that problem at all with my LG.

There is no mascerator in this model, but there is a trap cylinder so that larger bits of food will be caught before washing down or clogging. This cylinder just needs to be emptied periodically (typically you can smell it when it needs to be cleaned).

Lg had inclosed Finish Quantum detergent with my new dishwasher. The 1st one I used dissolved. The next 2 did not. I use Cascade along with the Finish Drying, also furnished, and my dishes are clean. My old silverware looks new and no spots on glasses. My old dishwasher had left my pots with a white looking permanent film and now with the help of the stainless cleaner I bought and the fact it's not being added with this new washer I am delighted. Hope this answers your question.

Only use detergent intended for automatic dishwashers. Incorrect detergent may cause the dishwasher to fill with suds during operating. Excess sudsing may reduce wash performance and may cause the dishwasher to leak. DO NOT use hand dish washing detergent in this dishwasher. Too much detergent can leave a film on dishes and in the dishwasher, resulting in poor wash performance.

Can an electrical plug be attached or should it be wired direct?

My LDF7551ST dishwasher will be delivered soon. Remodeling my entire kitchen. Electrician installed a recepticle for the dishwasher. Cabinet installer said the plug may be in the way and not allow the unit to be properly installed. Would it have been better to hard wire the dishwasher?

The dishwasher does not come with a plug; it has to be purchases separately. I don't see why it could not be hardwired. The wires are free on the dishwasher and if you are going to be using a plug, you would have to attach the wires of the plug to the wires of the dishwasher. If you have the hard wire coming from the house, I would imagine you could just do a direct wire connect from the dishwasher to the wires of the house.

Question

Is there something I can do to actually get it to dry my dishes?

We have used a couple of different wash options and the dishes NEVER dry. We did not open the door to the dishwaser for 2 days after one cycle (thinking perhaps if we didn't they may actually be dry when we did) and NO, still wet. I can't imagine they were any drier than when the wash cycle stopped 2 days earlier. Have only owned it for about 2 weeks but am seriously considering returning it! Please help!

We regret the inconvenience you have experienced with this dishwasher. If the unit is not drying, it would be recommended to check the RINSE AID dispenser to see if it is filled and / or open. It is also suggested to check the drain line to ensure that it is not kinked in any way. If this still does not resolve the matter, then the unit may require service. To make service arrangements, you may either contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000, or you can check our Repair Provider Lookup on our website, at http://www.lg.com/us/support/repair....

Its height can be adjusted quite a bit. The installation instructions provide very good detail on how. It will fit in any standard cabinet opening designed for a full-size built-in dishwasher. I think there are only 2 different standard built-in dishwasher sizes. They are drastically different. If it is a close fit, it is the correct unit.

We regret the frustration you have experienced with this matter. According to the PRODUCT DIMENSIONS listed in the INSTALLATION GUIDE, it appears that the greatest height of the product is 33 1/2", and the adjustable feet, on the unit, can increase the height to a maximum of 34”, should the counter require this.

Question

Why do I find that when the dishwashing cycle is complete, I find I still have soap in the dispenser?

Each time I use the dishwasher, the items in the front (next to the door) are always different. I've made sure that I haven't overfilled the dispenser and there is nothing blocking the dispenser. The soap that remains is hard and I have to dig it out with a butter knife. I use the NORMAL dishwashing cycle.

The lower rack is recommended for dinner plates, soup bowls, dishes, pots, pans, lids and grill trays. Plates should be positioned vertically and facing the center of the rack. Pots, pans and large bowls must be turned so that the inside faces downward. The silverware basket may be used in either the lower or the upper rack

Question

Why does my dishwasher make a squeeling sound randomly throughout cycle?

I have owned this dishwasher since November and had not had problems with it. A few days ago it started making a squealing sound randomly throughout the cycle. One cycle it lasted almost the entire time and the next it was here and there. It isn't terribly loud but noticeable. I purchased this new dishwasher because our old one was loud. Any idea of what this may be or how to resolve it? I already turned down the washer pressure thinking that may have been it and no fix.

2 sheet metal tabs are located on the top of the unit near the door edge. Bend these toward you so they protrude toward you. After sliding the unit all the way in, put a screw in each into the plywood Under your granite. Granite is installed on top of this plywood or OSB and 2 short screws into that will hold the dishwasher in place.

Question

Loud whistling sound?

My dishwasher started making a whistling sound 3 months after purchase. It is so loud it hurts my ears. I called LG and they said Sears has a service agreement with them, but Sears refuses to fix the problem and said its normal (even though it just started doing it). To make things even more stupid, I have a purchase return plan through my credit card company and they refused my claim because they said its not in working condition!
I am very close to backing my truck up into the front doors of sears and dumping this piece of junk on their floor and telling them its their problem, and returning the 3 other LG appliances I bought last week to Home Depot and rebuying my kitchen appliances under a different brand!
