Hello korish1975, thanks for your interest in the 42LM5200 HDTV. Most, if not all TVs are wall mountable as long as the TV meets the VESA Standard. There are 2 LG brackets that are recommended for this unit. The first is the Slim Wall mount model# LSW400BX which has ±15º Tilt / ±15º Swivel and extends out 8.9" It is a dry wall ready stand and weighs about 12.3lbs. The other is the LSW420BX. There are a number of VESA Standard compliant wall mounts that can be used that come as fixed mounts, tilting mounts of full motion mounts depending on your needs. IFV

We appreciate your interest in this television. Yes, the panel is designed with LED backlighting. The only OUTPUT of any kind, on this television, would be the OPTICAL Digital Audio Output connection. If you are looking for a standard A/V INPUT connection, page 22 of the owner’s manual provides information on how to connect a standard A/V connection.

Question

Where can I find the 120hz Truemotion settings?

I recently purchased the 42LM5800, and its great. But I can't find the settings to turn on/off the 120hzTrumotion. This is easily changed on every other tv I have owned/used, but there is no option labeled with anything remotely relevant to it (ie motionblur, smoothening, 120hz, refresh rate, etc). I know sometimes the firmware version can have an effect on the options available, but being a 120hz tv, it should be a standard option regardless. From my searches online, and in various forums, I know I am not the only one with this problem. Thank You

Question

software update

I tried updating the software update on this 42LM5800. It currently is 3.02.14 and I see on the website it is 3.02.54. When I do this through settings-customer support-software update, it checks and then states that my version is up to date.

I did the network test and my tv is connected to my internet through an ethernet cable, so internet connection is not an issue.

I do see there is a zip file also on the website: Software_File(Version_03.02.54).zip

Can I use this and update the tv this way? If so, how? I tried the usb port with this zip file extracted on an external usb hard drive, but I dont see a menu option for this?

Software updates can be obtained from the USB port if required. However, if the television is operating in the manner it should, then there is no reason to install an update. If you choose to install the update, place the unzipped data file on the USB Flash Drive with no other data. Once installed in the port on the TV, it should automatically start the process.

We regret the inconvenience you have experienced with this television. The 3D to 2D feature should not have any bearing on the clarity of the picture. You may optimize the picture mode with the Picture Wizard. With the Picture Wizard, you can adjust the picture quality of the original image. Press the MENU button on the remote control. Along the bottom of the screen, in the MY APPS section, select the SETTINGS option. This should take you to the PICTURE MENU. Scroll down the PICTURE MENU to locate and select the PICTURE WIZARD II feature. It will take you, step by step, through the different options to adjust your picture settings to best fit your personal preferences.
