It does take longer, but the trade off is that with this kind of capacity I am doing fewer loads. There is a 'speed wash' setting which takes about the same amount of time as my old 'traditional' machine.

For us it is well over an hour. The slowest part is the fill for both wash and rinse. The on-screen timer will say 42 minutes, but it takes MUCH longer than that because of the filling.

We appreciate your interest in this washing machine. It is recommended to first check the care instructions on the shoes themselves, to see if they can be washed. If they can be washed, it is recommended to place them on opposite sides of the tub, along with other items to allow load balancing. If you have additional questions, please contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000.

There are several options available for gentler operations for this unit. The cycle to be used will depend upon what cleaning options you desire. While there may not be a specific DELICATE cycle, you may use the BABY WEAR or the WOOL cycles. You may also take one of the other cycles and use the MODIFIER buttons to reduce the spin speed or the water temperature. No external drip pan is included. Actually, in over 50 years of playing with washing machines. Yes they did have them 50 years ago. I only had the need for a drip pan once, and then it would not have helped much because the hot water hose came apart from age and shot water about 4-8 feet flooding the wee apartment I was in at the time. So, check them hoses after a few years.

Yes, pillows can be washed in this Top Load washing machine. First, be certain to review the care requirements on the pillow tags. Use the Bulky/Bedding cycle for items such as pillows, comforters and other articles which have difficulty absorbing water. ONLY WASH SMALL LOADS to make sure there is plenty of room for the load to move during washing. Keep like items together; do not mix large bulky items with smaller clothing items. Failure to follow these instructions may result in damage to the clothing or to the washer.

While the bleach is supposed to dispense at the appropriate time during the cycle, and is scheduled for the water to run through the dispenser twice, in order to rinse the dispenser, it is not uncommon for some water to remain in the dispenser when the cycle is complete. If this is not the case with your machine, then the unit may require service. To make service arrangements, you may either contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000, or you can check our Repair Provider Lookup on our website, at http://www.lg.com/us/support/repair....

Question

Is there anyplace I can find all of the information for each cycle? Eg. Gentle, normal, strong agitation; number of rinses, etc.

I would like to know which cycles have already programmed 2 rinses, as I don't want to add an extra rinse if it's already programmed into a certain cycle. It would be helpful to have a chart that shows all of the wash/rinse information for each cycle. I notice some cycles use more water than others, too, and this would be good to know about each cycle, as well.

We appreciate your interest in the operations of this washing machine. None of the cycles are automatically programmed with a second rinse cycle. However, the sensors in the unit are configured in such a manner as to test for a certain weight variance for the amount of moisture left in the unit, as well as the amount of suds that may still be in the unit, and will automatically add another rinse if needed. To force an extra rinse, all cycles have the option to add another rinse cycle. Cycle features can be found on a chart on page 22 of the owner’s manual.
