I would use the sports wear cycle. It is amazing when you take your nylon items out...there are almost dry. Side note, use Tide Sport liquid detergent and you will love the way your jerseys smell.

While the bleach is supposed to dispense at the appropriate time during the cycle, and is scheduled for the water to run through the dispenser twice, in order to rinse the dispenser, it is not uncommon for some water to remain in the dispenser when the cycle is complete. If this is not the case with your machine, then the unit may require service. I know they recommend not washing rugs with the rubber backing, but I just did a small load today of my bathroom rugs and had no problem at all. They are all in good condition with the rubber being like new. I dried them on a low heat setting and they did fine in the dryer as well. I have actually never heard of a washing machine not being able to handle rugs!

I apologize, but no; we cannot recommend the washing of any rugs with a rubber bottom. Unfortunately, no matter how gentle a cycle might be used, the potential is high that the backing can become separated from the rug, and get caught in the drain pump. Such an obstruction to the pump can be damaging to the product.

It depends what the label of the item says. If the instructions on the label of the waterproof mattress cover allows you to wash it in a laundry machine then there should be no problem. Please make sure you use the appropriate settings (I'm guessing it can't be washed too hot).

Question

why won't the washer fill over the level of the clothes?

Every time I wash a load of clothes, I have to press the 'extra rinse' button so that the washer will fill with more water. No matter which setting I use, the washer doesn't fill enough to cover the clothes and some items never get wet. Only when the spin cycle begins do the top items get wet and only because the water is forced back through the clothes. Is there something I can do to correct this?

We regret your displeasure with the operation of the washing machine. This is actually normal operation. The washer is designed to use less water than your standard top load washing machine. It will be unlikely to see standing water over the clothing, and the water is supposed to be forced through the fabrics during the different parts of the cycle.

The fabric softener compartment is designed to hold liquid fabric softener, which should be dispensed during the final rinse cycle. Make sure that the stopper in the compartment is not stuck in place. If this is not the case, then the unit may require service. This is best answered by an LG representative or your appliance store rep. I have no problems at all with residual soap. You may want to try another setting, like Towels, and remember to use only HE detergents. Oxyclean should wash out easily and is safe for your HE washer. You may also try to use smaller loads.

Question

I have reviewed all of FAQs and see conflicting information on washing waterproof/water resistant items. Can you wash them?

In the questions, one reply says you cannot wash water resistant or water proof jackets, etc., but a reply to a later question says it is OK to wash water resistant mattress pads as long as it is OK with the label.
I am in the process of buying a washer and have noticed this is an issue with various top loaders. What HE models (top or front loader) do you have that can handle water proof items?
Thank you!

This may be a balance problem with the spin cycle with regard to the mattress pads. We washed our waterproof winter jackets and had no problem. It's a great washer. Your best bet is to ask your LG representative or store where you may purchase it. We got ours at Home Depot. The HD rep was extremely knowledgeable.
