The washing machine is designed to play a melody when the wash cycle if finished. The buttons make a sound each time a button is pressed. The melody and button tones can be turned off, as desired, by pressing and holding the WATER PLUS button for 3 seconds, during the wash cycle. This information can be found on page 27 of the owner’s manual.

I have only the washer. It did a great job on my large LL Bean "Side Sleeper" pillow. I used the Bulky/Large cycle but am sure that, especially with only one or two pillows, any cycle would work as well; making sure they can safely handle "special" settings such as "steam" or "extra hot" water.

I assume it depends on the temperature setting for your domestic hot water. Because we have no young children, I keep ours quite high so the dishwasher and clothes washer heaters have to be activated rarely if at all. It would be nice to know what the LG machines consider "hot" water.

The water heater, in this unit, is designed for raising the water temperature for the EXTRA HOT and STEAM cycles. The regular HOT and WARM temperatures are simply heated by the water coming in from the regular water valves.

I just measured this washer that was recently installed and it's just under 39, so it must be 38 7/8. You can also adjust each of the four feet to make it perfectly level, ( up and down ) so I would imagine that you could spin all the feet to the closest possible position - close to the bottom cabinet if necessary.

For this machine you should only use High-Efficiency detergents. The detergent package will be labeled [HE]. High-Efficiency detergents produce fewer suds, dissolve better and help keep the washer interior clean.

There are many brands of HE detergents and they come in both liquid and powder; whichever you prefer. The detergent you use now may be high-efficiency - check the package. For years I've used a Sears product - Sears Ultra Plus Concentrated Powdered HE detergent.

Good Luck

Question

Is the spin cycle supposed to spin the entire time or speed up, slow down, speed up, and slow down again?

I have just purchased Model WM2650HWA and have done two loads. Everybody keeps saying how dry the clothes are but mine are coming out wetter than my old top load. Not wringing wet, but definitely wetter than before. My spin cycle, even on fastest, spins up for a few then back down again. It does this over and over again. Is this normal?

Yes, on the front load washing machines it does change speeds during the spin cycle. This is how the machine balances the load evenly throughout the drum, then it really speeds up and pulls the water from the clothes.
I had a similar problem to yours when I first got this machine, but I learned to divide my laundry loads by weight. For example I can't wash a load of light summer clothing with one bath towel- the towel is too heavy and the load won't balance, but if I wash a load of light clothing with 2 or 3 towels, it works fine. Also, the drum on this machine is much larger than my old washer, I think I put too much in that first load.

We regret your dissatisfaction with the operations of this washing machine. The spin speed can adjust itself, and is designed to do so in order to re-distribute the wash load weight. Check to see if any error codes might be displayed on the unit. The spin should be able to extract much of the water used for the wash. If it still does not operate properly, then the unit may require service. To make service arrangements, you may either contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000, or you can check our Repair Provider Lookup on our website, at http://www.lg.com/us/support/repair....

I only wash 5 pair at a time because they are very heavy when wet and can become unbalanced and to heavy for the machine to work properly.
It's normal to see no water. Maybe a few suds at the bottom of the glass door section and you are doing fine. The system is made to use less water. They will also come out dryer than you may be used to in the past.

Yes, this is normal operation. In our LG High Efficiency Front Load washing machines, it is normal for there to be no visible standing water over the level of clothing. There is still water in the drum, and the clothes are still getting clean.

I don't exactly know what the "Forced drain system" is, but I have this machine and have had it for 6 months and it does sometimes retain water like most front loaders. I think what it does at the end of a cycle is spin at a really high speed to force the water to the outsides of the cylinder, but then once it is in the front rubber seal at the loader door, sometimes it doesn't all go out of the drains and being a woman with long hair, if any of my hair ends up in that drain it gets caught in the rubber seal as well. It's annoying, but I just wipe out hair and debris after each load with a paper towel and when I'm not using the washer I leave the door open to make sure no mildew builds up. I hope this answers your question...

Hi,

Chech inside your unit to see if there are any metallic/plastic objects that are stuck in the tiny holes. It might be causing problems. It happened to me. On my second load of washing, I heard a scraping/grinding noise, too. I freaked out, thinking this was a brand new machine and it shouldn't be making noises. I turned off the wash, took out the wet clothes, and slid my hand over the entire inside surface of the drum. Sure enough, there was a hairpin stuck into one of the holes. I took it out and the grinding went away.

If you don't find anything, I would call LG (if your machine is still under warranty) to request a service call.

Hope this helps.

The water is drawn from a small plastic container inside a drawer in the top-left side of the the unit's front side. The container or bottle can be removed for easy filling or simply just pour a cup of water through the top of the containers opening which by the way has a built-in mesh screen for filtering.

I don't think there is a set number. It will depend upon the sizes of your jeans and towels. ( I know that doesn't help alot) I usually just put what I feel is enough for the machine. You will get a feel for it after a couple times of loading. If you put to much fabic into the machine it will stop and display an error message that it is off balance. I had a top loading machine before this one (large capacity) and I know I fit at least 3 or more towels at a time with this washer. Though I haven't tried to over do it, can't afford to break this machine.

It is normal for the water level to appear to be low. The majority of the water is actually contained in the outer drum, while the contents of the visible inner drum dip through for greater agitation, resulting in better cleaning performance.
