It should be possible to use this BluRay drive with your MacBook computer. Your operating system will have to provide the appropriate drivers. We do not have any Mac-compatible software.

LG Model BP40NS20

Hi, I had to buy new LG portable re-write Blu-ray, but when I install software intio my Ultrabook the systerm can't install ( my Ultrabook grand new I just buy a one week my systerm windows 7 x64 bit
6GB memory hard drive 500 GB ) please help me how to install software into my Ultrabook ( by the way my note book don't have DVD Drive , they only had USB )

Question

Firmware for the BP40NS20

I have just installed my BP40NS20 and tried to play a Blu ray disc with PowerDVD 12 on a Win7 Pro 64Bit PC.

I got an error message on the screen telling me I needed to update my drive, not the PowerDVD software.

Are there any Firmware updates for this drive?

Does it write to M-Disc?

The info provided is not clear on if the drive (and similar models) have the capability of writing to the M-Disc. Does M-Disc support mean it only READS M-Disc? The confusion lies in the fact the M-Disc should be compatible with all DVD readers, no?
I am looking for drives to compare that would allow me to 'burn' a M-Disc of data.

The disc that comes with the drive contains the CyberLink Blu-ray Disc Suite which includes PowerProducer, Power2Go, PowerBackup, LabelPrint, MediaShow, MediaEspresso and PowerDVD. For blu-ray playback it is PowerDVD 10, which included 3D playback.

We regret the trouble you have experienced with the installation of this software. Check your computer system specifications. This drive requires a Pentium D 3.2 GHz or Higher, with a USB 2.0 port. It requires 1 GB of RAM or more. It requires 60 GB or more of hard drive storage space. The only other requirements of the drive are related to the Operating System and Graphics Card. If the software still will not install, then there may be a problem with the installation software. For additional assistance, please contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000.

I'm running an HP Elitebook 8540w with a Quadro FX 880M and I'm unsure if this card meets the GPU requirements. It's Windows 7 Professional 64 bit, 8 GB Ram and a 2.67 i7 CPU.
