Yes, this is correct. Each press of the FREEZER button will lower the temperature by one degree, until it reaches the lower extremity of its temperature range. Once it reaches this limit, the temperature gauge will cycle to the highest temperature, and start descending again. This is normal operation.

We regret the trouble you have experienced with the ice maker of this refrigerator. It is recommended to check the power switch on the ice maker itself. Try turning this off and then back on, to see if it begins operating again. If it still does not operate, then the unit will require service. We appreciate your interest in this refrigerator and freezer. Unplug the refrigerator power cord from the outlet. Remove the screw in the light cover with a screwdriver. Grasp the lamp cover and pull it downward. Replace the bulb with a standard 60W Appliance bulb. Finally, reinstall the lamp cover, screw, and then reconnect the power cord.
