Question

How many pounds of ice per day per ice maker?

My current freezer makes 3 pounds of ice per day with the in door low profile ice maker, I purchased the largest capacity fridge LG makes with 31. cu ft, however the three pounds of ice per day does not keep up with our use - how many pounds of ice per day does each of the dual ice makers produce? I have only had my current fridge a couple weeks and need to know before I have had it too long if I should return it for one with a dual ice maker...

lfx25973st dimensions

i would like to purchase the above french door refrigerator, but am unsure if it will fit in the space I have. Listed bgelow are the
dimensions of the space. These are maximum dimensions.

Height: 69" (front hinges do not matter as they will not interfere)

I think it will fit, but the width will be tight. We had an opening very similar to yours with a 36" max width, it fit with 1/4" to spare. No worries on the height as the cabinet is under 69".

Question

Does the water dispenser top button need to be held down for the water to dispense? Does the water dispense from the ice dispenser as well?

I currently have a fridge where I can fill my coffee maker with water by just having the carafe push against the dispense button. Is there a way to do this on the LG or does the button need to be manually held down the entire time?

Yes, the carafe would need to be held and pushed against the top button the entire time the carafe fills with water. Once you remove the carafe, the water will stop flowing. And no, water does not dispense from the bottom ice dispenser, only ice.

We appreciate your interest in this refrigerator and its dispenser operations. The ICE switch and the WATER switch are separate devices on this unit. While the WATER button is to be pressed by the glass, it may be difficult to get a coffee carafe into place to fill.

If a freezer is forming a small layer of frost, it can be caused by a bad seal, frequent openings, or it could simply be due to something warm being placed in the compartment. It is difficult to determine which might be the cause without a visual inspection of the unit, on site. If the frost level increases, then it is more likely to be the seal, or the opening and closing of the unit. If the door is not opened frequently, then the seals or the door will likely be the problem. Yes, this is correct. Each press of the FREEZER button will lower the temperature by one degree, until it reaches the lower extremity of its temperature range. Once it reaches this limit, the temperature gauge will cycle to the highest temperature, and start descending again. This is normal operation.

Question

How do you get the ice maker to actually make ice?

I have an almost one year old LFX25974 and the ice maker has decided to take a vacation and not make ice. I think there may be something wrong with the rotational tray since it does not appear to be rotating.

We regret the trouble you have experienced with the ice maker of this refrigerator. It is recommended to check the power switch on the ice maker itself. Try turning this off and then back on, to see if it begins operating again. If it still does not operate, then the unit will require service. We appreciate your interest in this refrigerator and freezer. Unplug the refrigerator power cord from the outlet. Remove the screw in the light cover with a screwdriver. Grasp the lamp cover and pull it downward. Replace the bulb with a standard 60W Appliance bulb. Finally, reinstall the lamp cover, screw, and then reconnect the power cord.
