Question

How many pounds of ice per day per ice maker?

My current freezer makes 3 pounds of ice per day with the in door low profile ice maker, I purchased the largest capacity fridge LG makes with 31. cu ft, however the three pounds of ice per day does not keep up with our use - how many pounds of ice per day does each of the dual ice makers produce? I have only had my current fridge a couple weeks and need to know before I have had it too long if I should return it for one with a dual ice maker...

Question

Does the water dispenser top button need to be held down for the water to dispense? Does the water dispense from the ice dispenser as well?

I currently have a fridge where I can fill my coffee maker with water by just having the carafe push against the dispense button. Is there a way to do this on the LG or does the button need to be manually held down the entire time?

The smaller water button is in front of the larger ice button at the bottom. It will give water as long as you hold a container against it.

Yes, the carafe would need to be held and pushed against the top button the entire time the carafe fills with water. Once you remove the carafe, the water will stop flowing. And no, water does not dispense from the bottom ice dispenser, only ice.

We appreciate your interest in this refrigerator and its dispenser operations. The ICE switch and the WATER switch are separate devices on this unit. While the WATER button is to be pressed by the glass, it may be difficult to get a coffee carafe into place to fill.

Question

How do I adjust the temperature in the freezer up a couple of degrees?

We just got a new French Door refrigerator (LFX25974) and the freezer temperature was set at "0". I wanted to raise it to "2" but when I hit the button it lowered the temperature to "-1".

answer 2
Yes, this is correct. Each press of the FREEZER button will lower the temperature by one degree, until it reaches the lower extremity of its temperature range. Once it reaches this limit, the temperature gauge will cycle to the highest temperature, and start descending again. This is normal operation.

Question

How do you get the ice maker to actually make ice?

I have an almost one year old LFX25974 and the ice maker has decided to take a vacation and not make ice. I think there may be something wrong with the rotational tray since it does not appear to be rotating.

We regret the trouble you have experienced with the ice maker of this refrigerator. It is recommended to check the power switch on the ice maker itself. Try turning this off and then back on, to see if it begins operating again. If it still does not operate, then the unit will require service. To make service arrangements, you may either contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000, or you can check our Repair Provider Lookup on our website, at http://www.lg.com/us/support/repair....

Yes,

You will need to find the bin number from a parts breakdown document and then search for that part number. I found the part on several sites such as LG Sears and Amazon at various prices. For example I purchased LG- MAN 62069201 Basket Door OEM for the right side at a very nice price though Amazon.

Accessories can be obtained through our parts distributor, MCM Electronics. Their contact number, for placing orders, is 800-824-9491. You can also use their website, at http://www.mcmelectronics.com/conte.... There are 6 different door bins, with 6 different part numbers. We do not recommend additional bins along with those already in place.

1, yes, but I always used to put eggs there, and they don't fit into this one.
2. No, no fold up shelves, but you can re-arrange them. It's a bit of a pain.
3. No, not electronic, but it does have temp control with a manual dial
4. yes, only 1 light, but for me it's enough. Do wish it had running LED like the bigger ones do, but they don't fit in my space. Dual ice makers I find very useful.

Yes, there is an off switch on the ice maker in the freezer you can use. This allows you to use the extra space until you need extra ice for a party or guests. Then just turn it back on, make ice and use it. This helps you not to have "stale" ice building up in the freezer you do not use. Also it keeps from running water so often.

If a freezer is forming a small layer of frost, it can be caused by a bad seal, frequent openings, or it could simply be due to something warm being placed in the compartment. It is difficult to determine which might be the cause without a visual inspection of the unit, on site. If the frost level increases, then it is more likely to be the seal, or the opening and closing of the unit. If the door is not opened frequently, then the seals or the door will likely be the problem.
