The hose connector comes with the unit and must be installed on the drain that drains into the bucket. However, it leaks into the bucket and will eventually fill the bucket and shut down the unit. Use some silicone sealer around the connection to prevent the leaking.

We appreciate your interest in this dehumidifier. This device was packaged and provided with a drain pipe that must be inserted through the back of the cabinet. The pipe must attach firmly to the elbow-drain duct, located above the tank. Once connected, your water hose can attach to the pipe, in order to allow the water to drain away from the unit. The instructions for this installation are located on page 12 of your owner’s manual.

There is not a “normal” or “average” setting designed into a dehumidifier. The settings must remain between 35% and 70% humidity.

We appreciate your interest in this dehumidifier. It will not be necessary to use the 2HR / 4HR timer settings. The TIMER mode ignores the Humidity Settings used. If you only use the Humidity Setting, then the compressor system will cycle on and off, relative to the Humidity Setting; however, the fan will likely continue to run as it circulates the air and tests the Humidity level.

My unit stopped working and the display reads CH 67 along with the bucket full light blinking.

The air filter is clean and I blew out the unit with an air compresser to make sure there was no air blockage.

In the owners manual it says the the CH code means there is something wrong with the compressor. A certified LG repair person will tell you that you must send it in unless there is a local repair person to come to you. They will also tell you if you have to send it in that you will spend more in shipping and labor/parts than to buy a new one. Been there, done that. Not worth the hassle.

The CH 67 display indicates a fan lock error. It may be able to correct this by performing a simple reset on the dehumidifier. Unplug the unit from the wall outlet. Allow the unit to remain unplugged for 3 minutes. Power the unit back on. If the fan begins to run, things will be returned to normal. If the error code occurs again, the unit may require service. If the ambient room temperature is very high (over 104) this error may occur. You can move the unit to a cooler area, or wait until the ambient temperature cools and reset the unit to restore operation.

Question

How much does it cost to run?

We have seen a major increase in our electricity bill since buying this dehumidifier. About how much does it cost on average to run this at 40% humidity all day, every day? (if there is some sort of formula that would be an acceptable answer too) Thanks!

We regret the inconvenience you have experienced with this dehumidifier. This unit draws 710 Watts at 7.0 Amps. The cost of operations will depend upon the cost of energy use in your local area, and how humid the room is.

We do not recommend the removal of the caster wheels for a shelf installation. Placing the unit on a shelf will restrict the air flow into the machine. Reduced air flow can lead to burning out the compressor and motor. Such would be an improper installation.

Question

I have a 65 pint LG dehumitifier that is 2 years old. It runs but will not collect moisture. What is my problem and is it reasonably fixed?

My 65 pint LG was hooked to direct drain, which is not the best fix at all. Can come disconnected over time. I bought from Home Depot 2 years ago and put in my crawl space which is 5 foot hight and gravel covered with 6 mil poly and sealed. The unit worked fine for 1 1/2 years but then started to run continueous. I had the the unit set at 50%. Now the unit will run and compressor will come on but will not remove any moisture.

We regret the inconvenience you have experienced with this dehumidifier. If the unit is running, and yet not drawing moisture, then it is likely that there is a sealed system problem. The sealed system of this particular model should have a 5 year Parts Only warranty, beginning at the time of purchase, and validated with a copy of your sales receipt. To make service arrangements, you may either contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000, or you can check our Repair Provider Lookup on our website, at http://www.lg.com/us/support/repair....

Look on the left side of the device, near the floor, below the sticker that gives the model number. There should be a white sticker. That has the serial number on it.

The previous version LD650E was pron to premature failure. What has been done to improve this models durability?

Consumer Reports and many customer reviews have reported durability problems with the LD650E. When I purchased this unit yesterday, I had not researched this family of product. Have there been any improvements to this model that will boost my confidence in having selected your D651EBL?

Question

I hear the fan go one and off for about a minute or so, although I reached the humidity level"

I hear the fan go one and off for about a minute or so, although I reached the humidity level, is this normal?
Is it just "testing the air?" (I know other brands like Danby run their fans constantly to do this) I was just wondering if this is normal, since it doesn't run for very long, maybe a few minutes.

Also what is the most effective energy setting in your opinion, (with all other setting being equal) 2 or 4 hours? I currently have is set to fan high, 2 hours 55% it is in our finished basement.

Yes it is normal for the unit to "test" the air. It is designed to go into a sleep mode when the desired temperature is reached. Once there is a change in the humidity level it will kick back on.

The only reason that the unit should have moisture anywhere other than in the tank is if the humidity level is so high that it is condensing throughout the unit, and not just where the water is received in the drain.

The running on high or low speed is your personal preference. This is simply the fan speed, and not that of the full product operation. Yes, the unit will run for 4-hours and then shut off completely for 4-hours when you have used the TIMER button, and the indicator light is with 4 hr.
