The ECO WARM feature is designed to be a setting between the WARM and TAP COLD temperatures. It provides the benefits of a warm wash, while using less energy. The water will be in the neighborhood of 90 degrees.

Question

How do I select "All Cold Rinses" option?

Under the "Wash/Temp" selection button says "All Cold Rinses", how do I select it?
Right now is rinsing with whichever temperature is selected for the wash cycle. I do most of my washing in warm/ecowarm and when I open the machine after the cycle the clothes are warm, so I know it's not using cold water to rinse.

All wash cycles have COLD rinse cycles. However, HOT water is added in order to have the COLD rinse at between 75-90 degrees. This is normal operation.

Question

After washing, water remains in the detergent dispenser. Do I just dump it into the tub?

I'm using liquid detergent, though I'm sure that's immaterial. Anyway, a large quantity of water remains in the dispenser drawer after washing is completed. Should I leave it there till the next time and then dump it before adding more detergent? Should I dump it into the tub after removing the clothes and let it sit there till the next use? There isn't a sink handy to dump it into.

It is normal for a small amount of water to remain in the dispenser compartments at the end of a cycle. It is recommended to empty this water between loads, and also to wash the dispenser cup as well as the siphon insert. This will allow for more efficient operation of the device.

The EXTRA HIGH spin speed is a cycle that is available for five of the eight available cycles: Cotton/Normal, Heavy Duty, Bulky/Bedding, Speed Wash, and the Rinse&Spin. It appears to work best with heavier fabrics that have a tendency to retain moisture.

When cycles use a HEAVY Soil Level, the machine can add more time to the cycle, to allow for added washing and agitation. Less time is used for a LIGHT Soil Level.

Wrinkling can occur by a few different possibilities: if the hot and cold water lines are reversed; if the washer is not unloaded promptly upon completion of the cycle; if the washer is overloaded. A hot water cycle can set wrinkles into garments. It is always recommended to remove items from the washer as soon as the cycle is complete. There are no special settings on the unit for this purpose.

We regret the trouble you have experienced with this washing machine. Did the unit actually stop all operations, or did it just appear to quit moving? Some of the wash cycle operations occur when you cannot see active spinning of the drum. This is normal. The door will remain locked until the cycle is finished. If this is not the case, then the unit may require service. To make service arrangements, you may either contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000, or you can check our Repair Provider Lookup on our website, at http://www.lg.com/us/support/repair....

Adding time during wash cycle, SOAK
Allows the consumer to remove stains more thoroughly by specifying additional time for the clothing to soak during washing. At the end of SOAK, the wash cycle will be started without drain.
• Cycle time will be increased by 30 minutes.
• It is normal that washer do weak agitation during SOAK cycle.

Laundry may be added to the load at the proper time in the wash cycle. When the ADD GARMENTS light is illuminated, it is safe to pause the cycle and add more items to the load. If garments are added when the ADD GARMENTS light is OFF, the washer will not adjust for these items which could result in poorer performance or fabric damage. Adding items to the load may require an adjustment in the water level and balancing of the load. If the washer remains idle for 8 minutes after pausing the cycle, the water in the tub will drain. If this does not appear to address the issue at hand, please contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000 for additional assistance.

Question

why does it agitate with so little water? and why is hot water added to a cold water only setting?

My clothes were barely covered in water, in fact, I could see dry spots on the clothes, and the machine was agitating? How can the clothes be getting clean when they are barely wet and have no detergent on them? Also, when I manually selected cold water, why do I get hot water added too? One load of towels I washed in cold, when I paused the machine and felt the temperature of the water, it was warm. I didn't select "warm". not too sure about this machine.

The operations you have described are normal. Through the course of the wash cycle, there are several different methods by which the clothing is agitated, and the water is manipulated, to ensure a more efficient wash. The water is also contained in the outer tub, so more water is available than what is seen. Finally, the water temperatures used by each cycle are according to the clothing manufacturer’s recommended temperatures. A COLD cycle is actually recommended to be 65-80 degrees. A typical water supply, straight from the faucet, is not at this temperature, and as such, must be raised to the appropriate temperature. It is for this reason that hot water is added, and the water feels warm to you.

The WT4801CW top-load washing machine does not have an internal water heater. The method by which it heats water to the desired temperature is by mixing the inbound hot and cold water supplies.

I apologize, but it appears that such an elbow bracket was not specified to be packaged with this model. Our PARTS records do not have a listing for such an elbow bracket for this model. However, certain accessories can be obtained through our parts distributor, MCM Electronics. Their contact number, for placing orders, is 800-824-9491. Another washer model shows a listing for this accessory. The part number for the hanger assembly is 3W50712A.
