Upon review of the owner’s manual and a parts listing for this washing machine, it does not appear that the washing machine has an interior light available.

I apologize, but our washing machine doors cannot be reversed. Only our front loading dryers can have their doors reversed.

Question

Brnd new 3550! Can I add a prewash to cycle then pause the machine @ 10 mins to set it up as a 'soak' cycle??? Husband's work clothes not clean!

Please advise the best way to clean my huband's work clothes covered with dirt, grass stains, oil, dead bugs (he is an electric meter reader and walks @ 7 hours a day). I have used the heavy duty cycle, bright white, etc. I use oxy-clean as a presoak, after first trying just more detergent - not clean. Did not dry them in between as to not set the stains. My top loader would clean all out after soaking for 2-3 hours in 1 c oxy-clean and Tide detergent. Then would do a second wash just to make sure soap was out and clothes would smell good. Help! Thanks, Jane (Noticed there was no answer to same previous question on site, pehaps we can kill two birds?? LOL) Good Day!

We cannot recommend the use of any detergent or additives except those that are specified for High Efficiency washers. There is a pre-wash cycle, during which time you may press the START/PAUSE button. The washing machine will turn off automatically after 4 minutes in the pause mode. Information about the PRE-WASH cycle, and how to set the SOIL LEVEL for the load can be found on page 26 of your owner’s manual.

The WM3550H features a RINSE+SPIN button. This will allow the clothes to be rinsed of any extra detergent remaining in the clothing just in case the cycle did not complete. The unit will drain and spin in this cycle. I apologize but there is not a SPIN ONLY cycle.

The LG front load washers are designed for use with only High-Efficiency (HE) detergents. HE detergents are formulated specifically for front-load washers and contain suds-reducing agents. Always look for the HE symbol when purchasing detergent. HE detergents produce fewer suds, dissolve more efficiently to improve washing and rinsing performance, and help to keep the interior of your washer clean. Using a regular detergent may cause excessive sudsing and unsatisfactory performance.

If the unit was only installed yesterday, then it is recommended to check the leveling of the unit again, as well as to make sure that the lock nuts are in place and secure. It is also recommended to ensure that the shipping bolts have all been removed from the back of the unit. If these do not resolve the matter, then it would be recommended to contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000 for additional troubleshooting of the matter.

Adding extra water to the washing and rinse cycle, WATER PLUS:
You can rinse the load more thoroughly by adding extra water to the washing and rinse cycle.

Front-Loading Washers work very efficiently, however there is no way of adding more garments after the cycle started unless you stop the cycle and drain all the water before opening the door (the safety locking mechanism of the machine prevents the door from opening once water entered the drum). You can add all garments at once if you use the matching washer cycle.

Hello Debbie,

yes, just be aware that it would have to be a pretty deep counter top.
The washer has a Depth of 29 3/4" and requires about 4" of Clearance in the back for water and drain hoses (total of 33 3/4" Depth).

Yes it is.

Our LG Washers and Dryers come in two sizes ("Compact" and "Full"). LG's Front-Loading Washer and Dryer units with front control panels are stackable as long as they are of the same size.

Difference between this model and the WM3875?

Our family loves LG products, and our next washer will be from your company for sure. The problem is, the 'compare' feature on the website is not helpful; the 3875 is smaller & has an LCD display, and that's about all it said. Forget price, just tell us: what are the real differences between the two models? Most importantly, why would you get the 3875 over this? In the US the WM3875 is common, but the WM3550 is harder to find. Thanks so much LG!

There are not many differences but the 3875 has more cycles, and a higher spin speed (1400 RPM).
