Yes, this unit must be vented out the window. If it is not, then the hot, humid air from the natural operation of the product will be blown back into the room, and will thus effectively negate the cooling operation of the unit.

Generally speaking it is not normal for the exhaust hose to be hot to the touch. It can become hotter depending on the amount of heat that is being pulled from the unit and the amount of heat that is directed on it from the outside. The length of the exhaust pipe is specially designed according to the specification of this product. Do not replace or prolong it with your own private hose as this could cause mal-function. If you continue to experience this issue, please contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000.

This product has a self-evaporative system. The condensing water will be recycled to cool the condenser. This can not only improve cooling efficiency, but also save energy for you. If the inside water is full, the display panel will display “P2”, and the compressor will stop running. Please turn the machine off and move the machine to the place where can drain water, and then unplug the water-draining hole. After drainage, you can power it on and the machine will run again. Unplug the air conditioner, disconnect the exhaust hose from the back, and move the air conditioner to a suitable drain location or outdoors. You may also place a pan under the drain that will hold up to 1 quart of water. When the internal water collection tank is full, the air conditioner will turn off until the tank is emptied. Remove the drain cap from the drain outlet. Once the water collection tank is drained, reinstall the drain cap, making sure it is on securely. Place the air conditioner in the desired location, reconnect the exhaust hose, and plug in the air conditioner. No, it is not recommended to cover the rear fan. The unit is designed as an air conditioner, and as such, it is designed to have an exhaust fan running over the coils, to cool them. If this vent is blocked, it can cause overheating of the fan motors, which can, in turn, cause damage to the product.

I think that means you need to drain the tank. Once the water tank is full, it automatically turns off and it displays an E code. There's a plug on the back...make sure you have a hose or bucket before you unplug
Good luck and I hope that works.

I had a problem a lot like yours and I found it was easy to use a hand saw and cut the parts down to the size needed. The plastic is easy to cut and use a bit of sand paper to sand any sharp edges. Since the parts fit one inside of an other you can easily cut that you need and still slide the parts outwards to fit and cover the full part of the window that you need covered.

No there is not - only an adapter for the window. You would have to fabricate something of your own - but I have thought of it myself and it could be easily accomplished if you had basic handyman knowledge. Now, though LG does not put this in their manual - the hose is the EXACT same as a dryer hose and while I am no engineer or building inspector - I could not see why it could not go out a dryer vent. its discharge is not anu warmer - and if you were going to vent to the outside via a wall that would be the route I would go - plumb it like a dryer exhaust.

This product has not been designed in a manner as to allow access to the drip pan. This drain pan is designed in a way as to provide for a self-evaporating system. If the tank does fill, then the water is to be drained through the valve behind the drain cap. This cap is the only access available to the collection pan.

Yes you certainly can - It is called the "dry" mode and is done by hooking a hose into the back of the unit for drainage. It works quite well though the hose is small diameter - not the typical garden hose.

I apologize, but this air conditioner does not specifically have a DRY or DEHUMIDIFY setting available. The only recommendation we might make in such an event would be to have the unit run, and simply raise the expected temperature to something in the 70+ degree range. The cooling process removes humidity from the air as well.

Thank you for your question. An air conditioner is a device which uses a special type of substance which readily changes from its normal gas state to a liquid one. The gas is contained in a closed circuit of pipes connected to a pump. The pump compresses the gas so hard that the pressure is great enough for it to turn into a liquid. In doing this the gas/liquid has got hot.

Now the hot liquid travels round a set of pipes which allow the heat to escape. Next the liquid under pressure passes through a valve into a pipe where the pressure is much lower, and the liquid evaporates back into its gas state. In doing this it needs to take in heat from its surroundings, thus making the pipes colder. The gas now gets back to the pump and the whole cycle starts again.

The pipes are usually arranged so that there are fans to blow air over both the hot part of the pipes and the cold part. The hot part is frequently put outside the house, and the cold part inside. This is called either a 'split pack', or a 'twin pack' depending on which country you are in There are also portable versions which have both parts in the same box, with the cold air blowing out of the front, and the hot air blowing out of a flexible hose which you put put outside the room to allow the hot air to dissipate.
