Can I plug the USB Y cable into a USB powered hub?

Just purchased the LG BP06LU10. It's being shipped.

The use for the USB Y-Cable is if the primary USB port is unpowered. If the port can provide data and power simultaneously, then both ends of the Y-cable will be unnecessary.

Question

My drive stopped reading blu ray disc

Hi. My drive was working fine until yesterday. It suddenly stopped reading blu ray disc. The drive can read DVDs and CDs but not blu ray. I'm running windows vista 64 bits and I have the latest drive firmware and the newest version of Cyberlink PowerDVD (set to the right region). I tested the drive in different PCs, same problem (when a blu ray disc is inserted nothing happens). Please help

Question

Stopped working

My BP06LU10 Blu-ray Rewriter seems to have problem being recognized by both my PC laptop and MacBook PRO for some reason.

I bought my unit two weeks ago and tried it ONE time on both laptops.
It was very slow to be recognized and I did create a test DVD video.

And now it just can not be recognized any more.

HELP !!!

Thank you.

Check the Device Manager on these devices to see if any error messages are being provided for this drive. Being a portable drive, nothing more should be required than simply plugging it in to the computer. If the unit still has trouble, it is recommended to contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000 for additional assistance.

Firmware update/BD-R won't burn

Is there a new firmware update for this drive. This is an external drive, not internal. A certain brand disc won't seem to be read by the burner.

There are no new firmware versions available for this external drive, at this time. We recommend the use of SONY or PANASONIC BD-R discs. It is required for there to be 60 GB of available hard drive space for BluRay disc authoring.

This BluRay drive has the physical capability of reading any type of BluRay file that is on a compatible disc. The software must be on the computer to be able to process the 3D formatting.

This device gets its power from the USB cable. Its USB cable is a Y cable. One goes into the device itself and the other two connections go to your PC.

I apologize, but no; this drive requires a computer, operating system, and a driver in order to output video data. Connecting directly to a television will not provide all these requirements. As this is a computer drive, it must be connected to a computer.

I apologize, but we do not have any replacements available for the software installation disc. If you no longer have the disc, then the software, if desired, will have to be obtained from a 3rd party vendor.
