Has anyone tried to wash sneakers in this machine? How did it turn out and did it throw the machine off balance?

Generally speaking, LG does not recommend to wash sneakers in the top load washer. The shoes will cause the unit to be thrown off balance causing the unit to vibrate and beome unbalanced. You can wash the sneakers with an even amount of towels including in the washer. This will assist with the prevention of receiving an UE error code.

The WT5001C features five spin speeds: Extra High, High, Medium, Low, and No Spin. The maximum RPM that the unit will reach is 1000. The spin speed can vary depending on the cycle that is used. Low in one cycle would have a different speed during low on another cycle. Below is a general guide:

Extra High 1000 RPM
High 600-900 RPM
Medium 400-970 RPM
Low 500-930 RPM
No Spin 0 RPM

Hello and thank you for contacting us. We do not recommend using any Starch in the unit as it is not specifically designed to operate with Starch. I do apologize and that would be a great idea to consider with our features on our washers.

Clorox 2 bleach should be treated as regular bleach. Do not use bleach in the dispenser drawer. It is only intended to be used in the bleach compartment as the detergents are released into the unit during specific wash cycles. Before starting the washer, pour a premeasured amount of bleach directly into bleach dispenser. If you prefer to use powdered bleach, add it into the wash basket
directly before adding clothes.

Many factors can cause clothing to wrinkle in the washer. Below are some recommendations that can assist in the prevention:

• Do not load items over the tub.
• Load dry items loosely, no higher than the top row of holes in the washer basket.
• Close zippers, hooks, and drawstrings to prevent these items from snagging or tangling on other clothes.
• Wash similar fabrics together to prevent an uneven load.

The amount of clothing or size of comforter that can be washed in the unit can vary. Load dry items loosely, no higher than the top row of holes in the washer basket. Overloading may reduce washer efficiency and possibly increase wrinkling. Bulky items need to be placed in the tub first. The washer will automatically detect the load size. Because of the high-efficiency wash system, the water level may not completely cover the load.

The WT5001C High Efficiency Top Load Washer that features WaveForce™ Technology, ColdWash™ Option, and a SmartRinse™ Jet Spray System. This model is not equipped with an internal water heater that can adjust the temperature of the water once it is in the tub. Generally speaking, a water heater is set to deliver 120°F (49°C) water to the washer. The amount of clothing, temperature surrounding the unit, and the temperature of the home’s water heater can affect the desired temperature. Once the water is released into the tub, the temperature will decrease. If the water coming from the water heater is 120°F when it travels from the heater to the unit then into the unit, the temperature will decrease and by the end of the cycle, the temperature can be reduced by over half.

Question

Problem with condensation on floor WT5001CW washer

I purchased this washer and just had it delivered. It produces condensation on the floor when the dryer is on next to it. You can feel it from touching underneath the washer. I had the first one replaced as I thought it was a bad machine but this one is doing it too. I have a wood floor in the laundry room and want to know anything to help. This happens when the washing machine is not even operating - only the dryer. It is not a LG dryer.

The total height of the hose end should not exceed 96 inches (244.8 cm) from the bottom of the washer. The hose can allow it to reach that length. Unfortunately, LG does not manufacture an extension or longer drain hose. I will defiantly forward your suggestion to see if LG, in the future, can provide this item.

Generally speaking, the typical front-loader washer uses 1/3 less water than a traditional washer to wash the same load (approx. 25 gallons vs approx. 40 gallons). The water level varies depending on the weight of the clothes placed in the unit. This feature is automatic for LG’s high efficiency washers.

The Stain Care feature will extend the wash time of the cycle for enhanced wash performance. It also adds a 2nd Rinse. This a cycle enhancement option. This will not remove stains that have set in or have not been pretreated. The Stain Care Option only extends the time during the wash portion of the cycle and adds an extra rinse. There is no specific time for the option as it depends on load size and cycle selected.

Speed Wash has the lowest time frame of on average 35 minutes per cycle. The washer cycle time is based on the load size.

When the START/PAUSE button is pressed, the washer automatically detects the wash load (weight) and optimizes the washing time, based on the selected cycle and options. The display will then indicate the estimated time remaining for the selected wash cycle.

NOTE: The cycle time displayed may appear much longer than that of a top-loading washer. The displayed time is for the complete cycle, rather than just the agitation portion of the cycle, as is typically shown on a top-loading washer.

Washing Machine Capacities are rated by the DOE and the I.E.C. separately. Each organization uses a different method to determine the capacity. The Department of Energy has requested that all appliance manufacturers no longer use I.E.C. capacity ratings. In compliance, LG has updated the capacity ratings to reflect the DOE capacity rating. Literature such as specification sheets, owner’s manuals, and service manuals will continue to reflect the I.E.C. rating of the washer. New literature after April 30, 2011 will reflect the new rating. The LG Sales Website has been updated to reflect the DOE capacity.

Run the TUB CLEAN cycle monthly to remove detergent build and other residue:
1. Open the lid and remove any clothing in the wash drum.
2. Open the dispenser drawer.
3. Add liquid chlorine or tub cleaner. Some powdered or tablet tub cleaners which are manufactured for HE machines can be used.
-Do not add any laundry detergent or fabric softener to the drawer when using TUB CLEAN.
-If using powder cleaner remove the liquid detergent cup and add powder cleaner to the main wash compartment of the drawer.
-If using tablet cleaner add the tablet directly to the wash drum, not the dispenser.
4. Close the drawer and washer lid.
5. Select TUB CLEAN and press START/PAUSE.
*If odor already exists, run TUB CLEAN for 3 consecutive weeks. After TUB CLEAN is complete or
when the washer is not in use, leave the washer lid open for better ventilation's and drying
inside of the washer.
