Question

How fast is the LOW SPIN setting on the 5001CW?

The rpms on all the spin settings seem to be the same. Shouldn't the low spin be "SIGNIFICANTLY" lower than the high spin?

The WT5001C features five spin speeds: Extra High, High, Medium, Low, and No Spin. The maximum RPM that the unit will reach is 1000. The spin speed can vary depending on the cycle that is used. Low in one cycle would have a different speed during low on another cycle. Below is a general guide:

Extra High 1000 RPM
High 600-900 RPM
Medium 400-970 RPM
Low 500-930 RPM
No Spin 0 RPM

Clorox 2 bleach should be treated as regular bleach. Do not use bleach in the dispenser drawer. It is only intended to be used in the bleach compartment as the detergents are released into the unit during specific wash cycles. Before starting the washer, pour a premeasured amount of bleach directly into bleach dispenser. If you prefer to use powdered bleach, add it into the wash basket
directly before adding clothes.

All bleach is placed in the bleach dispenser. The bleach dispenser automatically dilutes and dispenses liquid chlorine bleach at the proper time in the wash cycle. It is located in the top, front, left corner.

1. Check clothing care labels for special instructions.
2. Measure liquid bleach carefully, following instructions on the bottle (Max capacity is one cup per wash cycle). If using powdered bleach, add it into the wash basket prior to loading items
3. Pour the pre-measured amount into the dispenser, being careful not to splash it

Important: Overfilling could result in premature dispensing of bleach. Do not pour powdered bleach into the bleach dispenser.

The unit does not have a light next to the dispenser. This unit features a SmartRinse™ Jet Spray System. Saving water doesn't mean compromising cleaning power. At least not when you have the SmartRinse™ Jet Spray System. It provides better rinsing performance while making more efficient use of water at the same time. The blue round piece next to the dispenser is the water jet spray. Please see the attached diagram.

Many factors can cause clothing to wrinkle in the washer. Below are some recommendations that can assist in the prevention:

• Do not load items over the tub.
• Load dry items loosely, no higher than the top row of holes in the washer basket.
• Close zippers, hooks, and drawstrings to prevent these items from snagging or tangling on other clothes.
• Wash similar fabrics together to prevent an uneven load.

The amount of clothing or size of comforter that can be washed in the unit can vary. Load dry items loosely, no higher than the top row of holes in the washer basket. Overloading may reduce washer efficiency and possibly increase wrinkling. Bulky items need to be placed in the tub first. The washer will automatically detect the load size. Because of the high-efficiency wash system, the water level may not completely cover the load.

Generally speaking, the typical front-loader washer uses 1/3 less water than a traditional washer to wash the same load (approx. 25 gallons vs approx. 40 gallons). The water level varies depending on the weight of the clothes placed in the unit. This feature is automatic for LG’s high efficiency washers.

The Stain Care feature will extend the wash time of the cycle for enhanced wash performance. It also adds a 2nd Rinse. This a cycle enhancement option. This will not remove stains that have set in or have not been pretreated. The Stain Care Option only extends the time during the wash portion of the cycle and adds an extra rinse. There is no specific time for the option as it depends on load size and cycle selected.

The lock is electrical, and requires power to the unit. If the washing machine does not have any power, then there will not be a way to manually unlock the lid. Check the breaker and the outlet to see if the power can be restored. If not, then the unit will require service. To make service arrangements, you may either contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000, or you can check our Repair Provider Lookup on our website, at http://www.lg.com/us/support/repair....

We do not recommend adding any detergent, or any other product, directly into the wash. This is contrary to the design of the washer. This unit is designed to release the detergent into the wash at the appropriate time of the wash, and will allow it to mix properly in the wash water.

The LG washers are designed for use with only High-Efficiency (HE) detergents. HE detergents are formulated specifically for front-load washers and contain suds-reducing agents. Always look for the HE symbol when purchasing detergent. HE detergents produce fewer suds, dissolve more efficiently to improve washing and rinsing performance, and help to keep the interior of your washer clean. Using a regular detergent may cause excessive sudsing and unsatisfactory performance.

To make sure that the washer is properly level, open the lid and look from above to see if it is same as shown above. If you have a level, check your washer with the level. To check if the washer is level side to side, close the lid and place a level at the back of the lid. To check if the washer is level front to back, place a level at the side of the washer on the edge where the cabinet side meets the top cover. If the washer is not level, adjust the front leveling feet. Turn clockwise to raise, counterclockwise to lower. The leveling instructions can be found on page 12 of your owner’s manual.

According to our information, the liquid bleach compartment is the open dispenser located at the front left of the washing machine. Do NOT use bleach in the dispenser drawer at the back of the unit. During the wash cycle, at a specified time near the end of the wash cycle, two sequential flushes of the dispenser should wash all the bleach into the wash load, and will completely flush the bleach. Any liquid remaining in the bleach dispenser at the end of the cycle is water, not bleach. That being the case, it is still recommended to flush the bleach dispenser with water after each bleach use, and then rinse out the residue by use of the RINSE & SPIN cycle.
