Hello. Recently purchased this TV and I get seem to get the image to fill the entire screen (16:9). I only get a 4:3 type image with the black area along the sides. The TV is set to 16:9 picture and the menu appears on the entire screen. I have AT&T uverse service and I thought that it may be a service issue, but called and went through a few setups with no luck. The TV is connected via HDMI cable.
If the television is set to a 16:9 Aspect Ratio, and is using the HDMI cable, and the menu operates according to the 16:9 Aspect Ratio, then the television is configured properly. If the black bars are still there, then there may be a setting on your AT&T U-Verse box that will allow its output to display at 16:9. Leave the TV as it is, and check for Aspect Ratio controls on the AT&T remote control or on the menu screen of the AT&T receiver.
picture is very small & square with black banners around the picture. the HD channels have the black banners around the picture as well.
The regular cable channels are all small, some of the HD channels are small as well. I changed the setting to 16:9 on the TV and still nothing has changed. I've had this TV less than 12 months, I have already had the cable tech come and replace the box. The picture is still messed up. small, distorted.
Typically, if you experience a small picture, with bars on all sides, it is because the TV is set to 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio when the video signal has the bars locked into the signal. In such cases, it is recommended to set the television to SET BY PROGRAM. You may then try to adjust the picture by your cable remote control. It may be possible to use a ZOOM feature with the cable remote.
In order to obtain NetFlix downloaded directly to this television, the unit would require a LAN port, which is not a feature of this unit. The use of such a feature will require an external device with the capability to stream from NetFlix, or using discs directly from the source.
The 47LK520 is a 2011 lineup version of the 47LD520 with better contrast ratio and some other improvements. Please refer to the spec sheets found on the Support tab for more differences between the models. Hope this helps.
The main difference is the addition of TruMotion 120Hz in the LD520 model to make faster scenes with virtually no motion blur. Hope this helps. For more information, please contact Customer Support: www.LGusa.com/support
Hi Doug! So looking at the back of the TV I see an input that says "Optical Digital Audio Out" that is slightly up and to the right of the HDMI inputs and right above the RGB (PC) input slot. I'm not sure what type of an input your device needs but there's that one. Also on the left side of the TV below the USB and HDMI Input slots is a headphone jack if that's what you need. I'm not sure if this helps but I hope it does!

why is my tv getting brighter and dimmer
when I watch this tv, the screen becomes brighter and dimmer constantly.
The EYE CARE feature adjusts the brightness of the screen to prevent the screen from being too bright. It dims extremely bright pictures. This feature is enabled in “Picture Mode-Standard, Sports, Game”. Also, pressing the ENERGY SAVING button repeatedly can increase or decrease the brightness of the picture.
When setting the time, on the CLOCK settings, as you scroll through the time, it will pass through the 24 hour military time, and then go back to 12 hour AM/PM time. If the clock continues to lose time, then there are two possible causes. One is that the automatic clock is set, and the TV is automatically adjusting itself to the time received from the digital broadcast. The other is that there is a problem with a processor that will require service by a technician. If this is the case, then it is recommended to contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000 in order to make arrangements for a repair.
The model ST600 is a device that is an upgrader of any HDMI-connected television to have Smart TV features. The other option is a BD690 Blu Ray player, which has the Smart TV features integrated. Additional information on this device can be viewed on our website at http://www.lg.com/us/tv-audio-video/video/LG-blu-ray-dvd-player-BD690.jsp.
The simplest sequence for each of these devices to be connected would be to connect both the satellite receiver and the Blu Ray player to the television directly, using HDMI cables. Connect the television to your home theater system using the Optical Digital Audio Output jack to send each device’s audio to the theater system.

Typically, the appropriate length mounting screw depends upon the mounting bracket being used, and are also provided with the bracket. We do not have a suggested length for screws. It depends upon the thickness of the bracket.
The captions are activated on this television through the OPTIONS menu of the television. If this feature appears gray, it would be related to an external receiver system, such as a cable box or satellite receiver. In such an instant, the option would not be available, except through the cable box menu.
