This television does not have a feature available to allow for the rotation of the signal to a portrait format on the screen.

In the menu, there is an options tab (picture of a metal briefcase).
In this tab there is a setting called caption.
You can toggle the caption on and off.

Please note that captions will only show if the program/show you are watching broadcasts captions.

The television will display whichever format it receives. As such, in order to change the TV from 480p to 1080p, you will simply change the format on the device sending the signal to the television (DVD / Blu-Ray player, cable box, etc.),

Simplink allows you to control and play other AV devices connected with HDMI cable without additional
cables and settings. This TV may work with devices with HDMI-CEC support, but only devices with the Simplink logo are fully supported.

The model 60PK540 television does not have a network port available. As such, it does not have the hardware, nor the software, required for any internet access. This device is not compatible with any internet services, unless connected to a computer, and simply used as a monitor.

Whether or not this television can connect to your laptop will depend upon the capabilities of the laptop video output card and connections. This television has the capability of connecting to a computer using either a standard 15-pin VGA/RGB cable, or a DVI, or a HDMI cable.
