Question

How to replace door gaskets and what parrt number is this

The door gaskets on this refrigerator continually rub against each other when opening and closing the refrigerator and cause tearing. Under an extended warranty we have had the gaskets replaced multiple times. Now the extended warranty has expired and once again the gaskets have torn. Looking for the replacement number and hoping an upgraded gasket has been manufactured that avoids this problem. Also need instructions on how I can replace these gaskets.

I apologize, but we do not have instructions available for the installation of refrigerator door gaskets. We are not technicians. Accessories can be obtained through our parts distributor, MCM Electronics. Their contact number, for placing orders, is 800-824-9491. The gaskets for your refrigerator doors are part numbers 4987JJ2002T (left door) and 4987JJ2002S (right door).

Any drain that might be in this unit would have to be at the lowest point of the freezer compartment, at the back of the unit.

We regret the trouble you have experienced with this refrigerator. The drain is typically located at the back of the cabinet, in the lower corner. If this cannot be cleared from in the cabinet, then this unit may require service to clear the remainder of the drainage line.

We regret the trouble you have experienced with this refrigerator. If the system is not cooling, and the door alarm is sounding, then it is likely that the door seal is not closed, and because of this, the compressor system and circulating fan are not operating. If closing the door does not reactivate the cooling system, then the unit may require service. To make service arrangements, you may either contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000, or you can check our Repair Provider Lookup on our website, at http://www.lg.com/us/support/repair....
