Region code

I understand that dvds from other countries have a regional code on them that may not let them play on all dvd players, like for instance blue ray has 3 region codes A,B,C. Can this dvd player play a dvd from japan. or what region discs can it play if any.

Thank you for your question. I am not certain which country you are in. If you are in the United States in particular, most DVD's from Japan you would try to play in a DVD player will not work.

The Region Code for MEXICO should be Region 4. Products that are sold in the United States are only compatible with Region 1 or Region ALL discs. This player will not play Region 4 discs.

The USB port on this player has several different uses. Its initial design is for “buffer” memory for BluRay 2.0 BD LIVE content storage. It can also be connected to a USB Drive to view Movies, Photos, or to hear Music files. The video file specifications are listed on page 10 of your owner’s manual.

Yes, it's more a zoom feature than a stretch feature though. To keep the picture itself in proportion, some of it might be cut off at the sides or the top.

This would be standard operation if the STOP button were being pressed two times. If it has been a while, you may consider replacing the batteries of the remote control, as low powered batteries can cause electronic devices to not operate properly. If this does not resolve the matter, then the unit may require service. Please contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000.

You must activate your player before you can use it to watch movies streamed over the INTERNET from Netflix. To watch movies and TV episodes instantly from Netflix, you must be a netflix member. If you are already a member of Netflix, this step is not needed. On your computer, visit: www.netflix.com/LG. Follow the instructions to become a Netflix member and get a free trial. On the player, select the [Netflix] option in the [NetCast] menu using the arrow buttons, and press ENTER. Follow the on-screen instructions until you see an activation code. The activation code appears on the screen. Take note the activation code. On your computer, visit: www.netflix.com/activate. You need to log into your account. Enter the activation code, and click the [Activate] icon. After you activate your player, you are ready to add movies and TV episodes to your instant queue. You can then use your player’s remote to browse your instant Queue and to select and watch titles on your TV. For questions regarding the Netflix service, please visit www.netflix.com/help or call1-866-579-7113.

The remote control for this unit can only use single-digit codes. As such, the only codes that will be available are 0-9. You may freely try any of these codes, even if your television is not listed. We cannot guarantee any of the codes will allow your television to be responsive.

Question

How do I use SRT files with MKV or AVI files?

There is not much information about MKV files in the manual. Some movies have the subtitles in SRT files. Applications like VLC can access these to play on computers while playing AVI or MKV files. I was not able to access these on the BD630.

Question

Why does the BD630 play some MKV files but not others?

I have TV programs in MKV format with 4 per DVD. Most all files will play, but some only 1, 2 or 3 of the 4 files play. WHY?
I also have movies in MKV format, but it seems fewer don't play than those who do.
