Question

Didgial reveive detects a digital signal but no sound from BR disk..

When playing the feature portion of a BR disk, my receiver detects a digital signal from the player but no sound comes thru. It works perfectly with DVDs and the coming attractions/trailer parts of the blue ray disk. I'm using the coax digital input with "direct pass through". I've tried every other combination of audio settings but I only receive stereo - non digital sound.. My TV does not detect a digital signal through the HDMI connection although the audio works.
Thanks in advance for you're help

We regret the trouble you have experienced with this player. It is likely that, when using the Primary Pass Thru audio setting, the disc is formatted for an audio structure that is incompatible with your audio system. This would explain why certain discs are heard while others aren’t. Try connecting the player directly to the television, using the HDMI, and set the audio to PCM Multi-Channel, and then set the audio output from the TV to the audio system only. This should resolve this matter for you.

I understand that the physical connections may all be correct. What about the INPUT SETTINGS? When the HDMI cable is in use, is the television on the appropriate HDMI input setting? If all the settings are correct, then this player may be having difficulties that require service. To make service arrangements, you may either contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000, or you can check our Repair Provider Lookup on our website, at http://www.lg.com/us/support/repair....

Most updates for this unit are simply to improve the efficiency of the operations of the player, or perhaps to correct some incompatibility with certain discs. Proper operation of the firmware should SHOW no change, and only offer proper operation of the player.

Thank you for your question. I am not certain which country you are in. If you are in the United States in particular, most DVD's from Japan you would try to play in a DVD player will not work.

The Region Code for MEXICO should be Region 4. Products that are sold in the United States are only compatible with Region 1 or Region ALL discs. This player will not play Region 4 discs.

This would be standard operation if the STOP button were being pressed two times. If it has been a while, you may consider replacing the batteries of the remote control, as low powered batteries can cause electronic devices to not operate properly. If this does not resolve the matter, then the unit may require service. Please contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000.

The USB port on this player has several different uses. Its initial design is for “buffer” memory for BluRay 2.0 BD LIVE content storage. It can also be connected to a USB Drive to view Movies, Photos, or to hear Music files. The video file specifications are listed on page 10 of your owner’s manual.

Yes, it's more a zoom feature than a stretch feature though. To keep the picture itself in proportion, some of it might be cut off at the sides or the top.

The remote control for this unit can only use single-digit codes. As such, the only codes that will be available are 0-9. You may freely try any of these codes, even if your television is not listed. We cannot guarantee any of the codes will allow your television to be responsive.
