No, this television does not have the capability of using headphones and the TV speakers simultaneously. Also, the only audio output connection available for this unit is the Optical Digital Audio Output that is designed to operate with a Home Theater System. It does not have a headphone jack available.

Question

Flash ability

I bought this TV (47LW5600) because the LG rep at Best Buy here in Durham NC, told me that the web browser had an old version of flash enabled and it was only a matter of time that flash 10 could be downloaded. Is this true? Please let me know because if not I will return the TV

It will not be possible to download a newer Flash player. This television is designed with Flash 8. Many functions requiring a higher version of Flash Player will be available separately, in the LG Apps Store. The web browser is not capable of downloading a higher version of Flash player.

The model 47LW5600 television only has an OPTICAL Digital Audio Output connection, for use with external audio systems. Connect this port to the Optical INPUT on your external speaker system. Once this connection has been made, turn off the TV SPEAKER setting in the AUDIO menu. This setting change will direct the audio signal out to your external speaker system.

No, this television cannot share an internet connection with the BluRay player. It can receive the internet content that the player receives, but the TV controls and controllers cannot interact with them. The TV would require its own connection to use its own internet features and content.

The simplest method for connecting full High Definition video as well as audio, would be to connect the HDMI cable. This one cable provides a digital audio and digital video signal for the highest resolution.

Question

RE the LG 47LW5600 TV: When I mute the sound, how can I set it up to show captions of the dialog on the screen? I need to run the TV silent sometimes

When I select CC1 on the AUDIO setup panel, it comes on all the time - not just when I mute. I need the caption to come on ONLY when I mute. Is that possible? Thank you.
