Generally speaking, your serial number will indicate the month and year in which your unit was manufactured. For example, your serial number starts with 704......the unit would have been manufactured in April of 2007.

The SANITARY cycle can be used as the Tub Clean cycle. You can use bleach, vinegar, or a front load washer cleaner such as Afresh, Whirlout, or Tide Front Load Cleaner in the unit during this cycle. Do not place any clothes in the cycle and LG recommends doing an extra rinse to ensure that all of the cleaner has been removed.

It is not possible to use a rack in the washing machine. Such a rack is only available in certain dryers. Trying to use it in the washing machine would prevent the hats from getting into the water. LG does not recommend washing caps and hats in the washing machine, as such a light-weight item will cause the unit to be out of balance and not operate properly. Typically, it is recommended to use a cap frame and wash the hats in a dishwasher, and then use the dryer rack to dry them.

This washer should not require unplugging in order to turn back on. There may be a problem with the power supply or the control board. The unit may require service. To make service arrangements, you may either contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000, or you can check our Repair Provider Lookup on our website, at http://www.lg.com/us/support/repair....

If such a label is not available through the dealer, from which the unit was purchased, then you might try searching at http://www.energystar.gov for such information. I apologize, but we do not have any Energy Star labels available to be sent.

It is normal for a small amount of water to remain in the dispenser compartments at the end of the cycle. If too much bleach is getting left in the compartment, then the dispenser cup may need to be removed and cleaned; including the portion that allows the cup to drain.

The sound and vibration you have experienced sounds like what is referred to as a Water Hammer. Please try the following steps to attempt resolution of this water hammer. Shut off the main water valve to the home. Turn on all the faucets, opening the lowest one last (this is usually the faucet on the outside, for a garden hose). Once the lines are empty, turn off the faucets. Turn on the main water valve again. Turn on the faucets again, one at a time; this time from lowest to highest. This should help with the hammer sound you have experienced.

Question

how long should a load of laundry take to wash?

My washer will sense the load and indicate 58 minutes, but it takes much longer for the cycle to finish. Sometimes up to 11/2 hours! There are times when the machine isn't moving at all.....is this normal? Also, my clothes do not always smell clean when I get them out. For instance, I can still sometimes smell my husband's cologne after washing- this does not seem like the clothes got clean. Please advise.

The length of time for a wash load can vary from that which is displayed on the washer. There are several determining factors that can increase the estimated wash time. That would not be uncommon. At time times where it may seem that the wash tub is not moving, it could, in fact, be that the wash agitator is moving under the clothing, or that the tub might be moving as a whole, without spinning the load. Both are normal operations of the washer. If you believe that this unit is not operating properly, or not cleaning properly, then the unit may require service. To make service arrangements, you may either contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000, or you can check our Repair Provider Lookup on our website, at http://www.lg.com/us/support/repair....

We regret the inconvenience you have experienced with this washing machine. The water in the bleach compartment is normal, expected operation. Simply empty the bleach cup after a cycle to prevent stale, standing water in the unit.

Question

How can you remove the dispenser cups to clean for the WM2301HR?

We just bought the house with washer in place and no manual. The dispenser cups and drawer are growing mildew and slime and I can't figure out how to get them out to clean them. The only loose cup is the detergent cup. They all seem to hold a bit of water after every cycle, and it gets really gross!

We regret the trouble you have experienced with this washing machine. Pull out the dispenser drawer until it stops. Press the button in the center of the drawer and pull to remove the drawer from the washer cabinet. Remove the inserts from the drawer and clean them with warm water and a soft cloth or brush to remove any residue or buildup. Wipe out the inside of the drawer opening with a damp cloth. Reassemble the drawer and reinstall in the drawer opening. This information can be found in the owner’s manual, of which a copy can be downloaded from our website at http://www.lg.com/us/support-produc....

We regret the trouble you have experienced with this washing machine. Typically one will only hear such a whistling sound when there is a restriction in the water line. It is recommended to check the water lines, make sure that the water valves are not restricted, and that the water pressure is not in excess of 116 psi. If all these are correct, then the unit may require service. To make service arrangements, you may either contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000, or you can check our Repair Provider Lookup on our website, at http://www.lg.com/us/support/repair....

Thank for you for inquiring about the washing machine and the dryer. I apologize but LG would not be able to answer those questions about the cost of the units since the units are discontinued. The serial numbers on the products indicate that the washing machine was manufactured in 2009 and the dryer was manufactured in 2010.

We regret the trouble you have experienced with this washing machine. According to page 32 of the owner’s manual, the LE error code suggests that the Thermal Overload Protection circuit in the motor has been tripped. All the washer to stand for 30 minutes to allow the motor to cool; then restart the cycle. If the LE error code still appears, then the unit may require service.
