To safely remove the pedestal, lay the appliance down on a large piece of cardboard. Be sure that the cardboard is under the entire lower back of the product. Remove the screws holding the brackets to the pedestal. Remove the brackets from the washing machine. Remove the pedestal from the washing machine, and set the unit back to its upright position. The supplied wrench is all that should be needed in order to level the unit.

The COLD water cycles tend to add some HOT water to the cycle in order to regulate the COLD water temperature. This is based on the clothing manufacturer’s recommendations for water temperatures. If the water being used is all HOT, then the water lines may be reversed. This can be seen in the fact that all RINSE temperatures should be COLD water. If the rinse is using HOT water, then something is not connected properly. If you have additional questions about this matter, please contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000.

Question

The blue light on our washer doesn't turn off and is tripping the breaker.

It just started a day ago and to get the washer to start I need to flip the breaker. It doesn't seem to be popping the breaker but that is the only way to get it to work again. The light usally goes off but stays on the whole time now. We used the washer quite a bit before this started that day.

A buildup of detergent residue can occur in the wash tub over time and can lead to a mildew or musty smell. The TUB CLEAN cycle is specially designed to remove this buildup. Fill the bleach dispenser to the MAX line. Press and hold the EXTRA RINSE button for 3 seconds to activate this cycle. After the cycle has ended, open the door and allow the drum interior to dry completely. DO NOT use this cycle with clothes, and DO NOT add detergent or fabric softener. If you use the TUB CLEAN cycle on a monthly basis, the wash drum will be kept clean.

We regret any inconvenience you have experienced with this washing machine. The unit is likely going to work to ensure nothing is left in the lines that might have been residual from before storage. If the unit continues to run water in and immediately back out, however, then the unit may require service. To make service arrangements, you may either contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000, or you can check our Repair Provider Lookup on our website, at http://www.lg.com/us/support/repair....

We regret the trouble you have experienced with this washing machine. The OE Error Code signifies a problem with the drain. This could be caused by the drain hose being bent or clogged, or the drain filter being clogged. Check the filter at the bottom of the washer cabinet, as well as the drain hose. If this does not resolve the matter, then the unit may require service. To make service arrangements, you may either contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000, or you can check our Repair Provider Lookup on our website, at http://www.lg.com/us/support/repair....

Question

Can the door be switched to open left to right on a WM2487HWMA front loading washer?

My dryer is on the left side of the washer and I would like to switch the door to open from the left side, so the door is out of the way when I transfer the load to the dryer. If this is possible - what parts do you I need?

Thanks,

Greg

We regret the inconvenience you have experienced with these products. While it is possible to reverse the door on a LG DRYER, such is not the case for a LG WASHER. Due to their shape and design, the washer door cannot be reversed.

The ‘dE’ error code is a Door Error. It is typically caused by the door not being closed properly. Make sure that the door is closed properly and press the START/PAUSE button. After starting a cycle, it may take a few moments before the drum begins to turn or spin. The washer will not spin unless the door is locked (DOOR LOCK will appear in the display). If the door is closed and locked and the OPEN DOOR error message is displayed, then the unit will require service. To make service arrangements, you may either contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000, or you can check our Repair Provider Lookup on our website, at http://www.lg.com/us/support/repair....

The fabric softener compartment holds liquid fabric softener which is to be automatically dispensed during the final rinse. If this is not the case, then the unit may require service. We appreciate your interest in this washing machine. We do not recommend the use of fabric dyes in our LG washing machines. The dyes will not have the proper water content, as this machine does not use as much water as your standard top-load washing machine.

We regret the trouble you have experienced with this washing machine. The FE error code suggests that the water level is too high due to a Faulty Water Valve. It is recommended to close the water taps, unplug the washing machine and call a qualified service technician. To make service arrangements, you may either contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000, or you can check our Repair Provider Lookup on our website, at http://www.lg.com/us/support/repair....

Question

Very disappointed that our LG washer is barely 5 years old, but is apparenly dying.

Our washer now makes a very loud grinding noise while in the spin cycle. I am told that it is probably the drum bearings, and that it is not cost-effective to replace them. Very disappointed that our not-inexpensive washer is apparently done for. Is there anything else that can be done?

We regret the trouble you have experienced with this washing machine. Position the washer in the final location, taking special care not to pinch, strain, or crush the water and drain lines. Place a level across the top of the washer. Loosen the locknuts on all 4 leveling feet until you can turn the feet with the included wrench. Turn clockwise to raise the washer or counterclockwise to lower it. Once the washer is level from side to side and front to back, tighten all locknuts securely. Make sure that all 4 leveling feet are in firm contact with the floor.

We regret the trouble you have experienced with this washing machine. The FE error code is a faulty water valve, which explains the constantly running water. The unit will require service. It is recommended to turn off the water to the machine.
