I CHECKED THE MACHINE AND FOUND A WORN OUT RUBBER PART AT THE BOTTOM . (DRAIN HOSE WITH BELLOWS 4738ER1002A )
THE MACHINE IS ONLY 3 YEARS OLD, THE HOLE STARTED FROM INSIDE OUT. I PICKED NEW PART FROM A LOCAL SUPPLIER AND REPLACED IT .

PROBLEM FIXED.

I READ, ON LINE, ANOTHER SIGHT THAT HAD "EXPERT" WHO ANSWERED SIMILAR QUESTION AND HE SUGGESTED INSTALLING A DRAIN PAN UNDER THE MACHINE !!!

Question

The washer always has a bad odor coming from it regardless of how often I drain the bottom tube. Also the door seal is loaded with "gunk"

When I was clothes, they come out stained with the "gunk" around the door seal. I have tried to clean this seal, but it is difficult to clean completely. Do you have any recommendations?

I apologize for the frustration you are experiencing. There are many factors that can cause an issue such as this. Different minerals in the water or a home water softener system can change the quality of the cleaning. The amount of detergent used is a main cause of poor cleaning performance. Due to the amount of water used per cycle in the High-Efficiency unit, the amount of detergent has to be reduced. Our recommended amount is generally 2 TBSP. The unit does not use enough water to rinse out the clothing properly if too much detergent is used in a cycle. This can cause and odor as well as leave the clothing looking dingy. It is imperative to maintain the unit by following the cleaning instructions in the owner’s manual. In addition front load tub cleaners are available at your local store.

The OE Error can mean that the drain hose is bent or clogged or the drain filter is clogged. Has the drain filter been cleaned recently? Items caught in the drain filter can prevent proper drainage. Furthermore, if the filter has not been cleaned recently, build up can occur from detergents and additives used in the machine. Manually drain unit through drain hose, then lay a towel down (to catch water) and remove filter. Clean thoroughly and restart the machine. Is the drain hose installed properly? If the drain hose is not installed properly, the unit will not drain properly. Make certain that the drain hose is installed no more than 1 meter higher than the bottom of the washing machine. Refer to Owner’s Manual for additional information regarding the OE error.

The Steam Fresh cycle is not intended to be used with detergent. For slightly wrinkled clothes which have been stored for an extended time. It makes wrinkled clothes easier to iron (Do not load wet clothes). Wrinkles and odors will be reduced.

Precautionary Notes:
- The SteamFreshTM cycle is not like other washing or drying cycles.
- Due to the characteristics of cotton fibers, this cycle is not recommended for 100% cotton clothing.
- Remove stains from clothing before using the SteamFreshTM cycle to prevent permanently setting the stains by high heat.
- Be sure the faucet is open. This cycle uses a little water to produce steam.
- Be careful not to touch the door. It can be very hot.
- Do not load the following items: Wool, blankets, leather jackets, silk, wet clothes, lingerie, foam products, or electric blankets.
- After removing clothes from the SteamFreshTM cycle they may feel slightly damp. Wait at least 10 minutes before putting the clothes on.
- Best results are achieved when articles are of similar size and fabric type. Do not overload.

We do not recommend it. Due to the low water consumption of front load units, it can be very hard to determine how much OxiClean should be used. Using too much is very easy to do and can cause the unit to oversuds which can cause the unit to leak from the air vent. Please refer to your owner's manual on what products can be used with the unit.

During a Sanitary Cycle, with no extra options, the unit will still simply wash, rinse, and spin the clothes. The cycle is made sanitary by allowing the extra hot water. Your load will still experience the water fill, tumble for balance, possible addition of more water and re-balance, wash, agitate, rinse, and then spin.

There is no way for us to know if a “mechanic” will leave residue from his clothing. The best way to clean this unit would be to utilize the TUB CLEAN feature, and / or to run a SANITARY cycle through the unit, without clothing, so that the entire interior can be cleaned of any particles.

Question

How do I set the washer so it will use bleach?

We bought our washer about four years ago. Several times recently we have attempted to run a wash cycle using bleach. But the bleach reservoir does not empty. Is there a particular setting that must be used? Is it possible the siphon in the reservoir is clogged from non-use? if so, how do I get it to work?

Yes, it is possible that the siphon portion of the bleach dispenser compartment could be stuck. Pull out the dispenser drawer until it stops. Press the button in the center of the drawer and pull in order to remove the drawer. Remove the inserts from the drawer and clean them with warm water and a soft cloth or brush to remove any residue or buildup. Wipe out the inside of the drawer opening with a damp cloth. Reassemble the drawer and reinstall in the drawer opening. Do not use anything other than water to clean the drawer, inserts, and drawer opening. If any sort of household cleaner drains into the interior of the washer, run a RINSE+SPIN cycle before washing clothes.

What type of soap is being used? Is the dispenser being overfilled? Make sure powdered detergent is not being added to the liquid detergent cup. You may also need to remove and clean the detergent cups. If this does not resolve the matter, then the unit may require service. It is not recommended to remove the gasket, unless it is done by a service technician. The gasket has a fold which can also retain moisture, and needs to be pulled back in order to clean it thoroughly. Once it has been cleaned, it is recommended to leave the washer door open after each load, to allow the tub to air out without building up residue.

LG has released a pedestal adaptation kit. This will allow older units, which previously used a mounting bracket installation method, to be secured to a new pedestal that uses the t-clip installation method. Two brackets will be placed on the left side of the unit and two on the right side of the unit. The adaptation kit contains mounting brackets and self-tapping screws.

1. Remove the paper on the adhesive and place on the unit. The adhesive part will adhere to the washer/dryer.
2. The brackets can screw into the pedestal. They come with “Self-Tapping” Screws. This means that the screws can go into and through the metal on the sides of the pedestal. They will create their own thread to secure to the pedestal.

We regret the trouble you have experienced with your washing machine. The bearings are not part of the motor, and as such, are not included in the 7-year motor parts warranty. The requirements for warranty validation is simply to present a copy of your dated sales receipt for the product.
