Dry cleaning is a process that cleans clothes without water. The cleaning fluid that is used is a liquid, and all garments are immersed and cleaned in a liquid solvent -- the fact that there is no water is why the process is called "dry." This unit is not designed to dry clean clothes. Please refer to the Owner’s Manual for information in cycle types available on this unit.

The WM2487HRMA provides a special function called TUB CLEAN. A buildup of detergent residue can occur in the wash tub over time and can lead to a mildew-like or musty smell. The TUB CLEAN cycle is specially designed to remove this buildup. Fill the bleach dispenser to the MAX line. Press and hold the EXTRA RINSE button for 3 seconds to activate this cycle. After the cycle has ended, open the door and allow the drum interior to dry completely.

NOTE: Do NOT use this cycle with clothes, and do NOT add detergent or fabric softener.
NOTE: If you use the TUB CLEAN cycle on a monthly basis, the wash drum will be kept clean.

Question

Seal on door is leaking and is moldy? how do I fix this problem?

Seal on inside that helps to seal the door is a double layered seal with flaps....the water tends to sit in there and it leaks out while washing clothes...plus the seal is all moldy along the edges and full of muck. Any way to fix or clean this or get a new seal? Or take the seal off to clean out easier?

The gasket and door require regular cleaning to prevent buildup that prevents proper sealing. It is generally recommended that both should be wiped clean and dried after washing. If this is not done, a buildup of lint, pet hair, or detergent residue occurs which prevents proper sealing between door and gasket, which will cause leaking. In addition, ensure no clothing items are caught between the seal and door before running a new wash load. If you are not to clean the gasket completely, please contact our product specialist at 800-243-0000 for possible service from a authorized service center.

The Drum Light is a LED light that illuminates when the washer is turned on. This light automatically turns off when the door is closed and the cycle starts. To turn on the light during a cycle, press and hold the RINSE+SPIN button for 3 seconds. The drum light will illuminate and then turn off automatically after 4 minutes. If the light stays on longer than this, then the unit may require service. To make service arrangements, you may either contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000, or you can check our Repair Provider Lookup on our website, at http://www.lg.com/us/support/repair....

The adaptation kit contains mounting brackets and self-tapping screws.

They are currently only available in white and red.
They have adhesive on the side that secures to the pedestal and unit. Make sure the paper is removed from the adhesive.
The brackets can screw into the pedestal. They come with “Self-Tapping” Screws. This means that the screws can go into and through the metal on the sides of the pedestal. They will create their own thread to secure to the pedestal.
They are basically like the old brackets, but will require that holes be put into the pedestal to secure it properly.

The STAIN CYCLE button should only require holding for about 3 seconds to allow the activation of the Spin Sense feature. The light is not designed to stay on, but rather to blink. The activation of this feature must occur while the cycle is already running, according to the information on page 25 of your owner’s manual. If this is not the case, then the unit may require inspection by a service technician. To make service arrangements, you may either contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000, or you can check our Repair Provider Lookup on our website, at http://www.lg.com/us/support/repair....

Question

Interior light stays on/Buttons don't work

After a load is complete, the interior light stays on (even overnight). Plus, the buttons don't work, so if I want to start another load, I have to unplug the unit and plug it back in. Only then, does the machine seem to reset itself and work...until THAT load is finished, then I have to unplug it again. ?

We regret the trouble you have experienced with this washing machine. The OE error code can be caused by the DRAIN HOSE being bent or clogged. It can also be caused by the COIN TRAP on the front of the unit being clogged. Check these two aspects of the unit. If these do not seem to resolve the matter, then the unit may require service. To make service arrangements, you may either contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000, or you can check our Repair Provider Lookup on our website, at http://www.lg.com/us/support/repair....

Pull out the dispenser drawer until it stops. Press the button in the center of the drawer and pull to remove the drawer. Remove the inserts from the drawer and clean them with warm water and a soft cloth or brush to remove any residue or buildup. Wipe out the inside of the drawer opening with a damp cloth. Reassemble the drawer and reinstall it in the drawer opening. Do not use anything other than water to clean the drawer, inserts, and drawer opening. If any sort of household cleaner drains into the interior of the washer, run a RINSE & SPIN cycle before washing clothes.

Question

Are pedestals still available for a discontinued model of washer and dryer?

We have the WM2487HRM WIld Cherry front load washer (serial # 703kwju10820) and the DLE7177RM Wild Cherry electric dryer (serial #612kwlr06528). Can we still get pedestals for both appliances? Or are any of the new ones able to be used with these models?
