Question

Cooling Fan Making A High Shrill Noise

In The Rear Of The 'LSC26905TT' At The Bottom Left Hand Corner (When You Are Facing The Side By Side Doors), There Is A Small Cooling Fan Which I Believe Also Keeps The Heating Coils On The Doors Cool & Also Provides Wind Recirculation For The Refrigerator.

The Roller Bearing On The Fan Blade Motor Is Failing, Making The "High Shrill Noise".

Where Can I Purchase This Fan Motor Assembly Here In Puerto Rico, & Can I Replace It My Self?

Question

ice maker works for a few weeks then quits for a few days up to 3 weeks at a time

It seems after a few days of using "crushed ice", the ice machine quits working for about a week. This happens a couple of times a month. Does the defrost cycle have something to do with it freezing up?

Also, if the "filter" light is on, will it prevent the ice machine from working?

Everything else works fine, water is cold, freezer and fridge work normally. I have increased the freezer level to a 4 from a 3.

Where is the on-off switch to make or not make ice??? The manual is pretty useless in this regard. Should at least tell you where the water filter is and how to change it.

The filter light is designed to come on to let you know when to replace the filter. The water filter is located in the light cover in the refrigerator compartment. This can be related to the ice problem as well. If this does not resolve the matter, then please contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000 for additional assistance.

We regret the inconvenience you have experienced with this refrigerator. This unit should dump ice once every one and a half hours or so. According to page 15 of your owner’s manual, “the automatic icemaker can automatically make 8 cubes at a time, 120-150 pieces per day. This quantity may vary by circumstances, including ambient temperature, door opening, freezer load, etc.” It is recommended to check the freezer temperature, and the clearance for air flow in the freezer compartment. If these are all set properly, then the unit may require service. To make service arrangements, you may either contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000, or you can check our Repair Provider Lookup on our website, at http://www.lg.com/us/support/repair....

Question

What might cause the refrigerator to quit running?

The refrigerator seems as though it is not getting power, however, the electric outlet it is plugged into has been verified to be live. Could it be that there was a power surge a an internal breaker needs to be reset?

We regret the trouble you have experienced with this refrigerator. There are several possible causes for power to fail in a refrigerator. This could be due to a power surge, a tripped breaker, or a failed power board. If the breaker does not prove to be the cause, then the unit will likely require service. To make service arrangements, you may either contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000, or you can check our Repair Provider Lookup on our website, at http://www.lg.com/us/support/repair....

Question

Problems with front display panel and freezing/cooling

A few days ago I went to get ice cream from the freezer, only to find that it was very soft, cold, but very soft. The freezer seemed to not be as cold, so I thought maybe the door had not been shut all the way as some other items seemed to have thawed a bit as well. I shut the door and made sure it was tightly shut and didn't think about it any further until a few days later when I noticed that the front display was strange (see attached image) All of the lights were off except the top four of the freezer temp control. The ref temp lights the dispenser lights will not come on, even when you hit the buttons. They will make noise like they are working, but the lights will not change and the dispenser will not rotate between ice, water, crush. The freezer still seems to not be very cold, the fridge seems okay, maybe not as cold. If you power cycle the unit, the front display will look and operate correctly for a few hours, but eventually the problem returns.
