Yes, there is a coolant gas in the sealed system of this portable air conditioner. There is no method available for releasing this gas. High altitudes of a flight could likely cause the gas to expand beyond the capacity for the tubing to contain it. It is not recommended to take such a product on a flight.

Question

Water Full all the time?

Air conditioner is in a good shape, but there is a function mode "Water Full" frequently flashing. The duration is around 2 to 3 hours. We pour out the water when the flashing sign is on, it works for 2 to 3 hours. Later on, we need to pour out the water again.

We regret the trouble you have experienced with this air conditioner. This model is designed to utilize the water collected to increase operational efficiency, and in doing so, evaporate the water. If there is a sizable amount of humidity in the room, then the water collection can be higher than the rate of evaporation. If the unit is operating properly, cooling well, and resets the display whenever the water has been drained, then it would seem that the air conditioner is operating as designed. It would therefore seem that there is a very high amount of moisture in the room. If this is not the case, then the unit may require service. To make service arrangements, you may either contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000, or you can check our Repair Provider Lookup on our website, at http://www.lg.com/us/support/repair....

We regret the trouble you have experienced with your Portable Air Conditioner. The CH 02 code suggests that there is a short or open circuit in the indoor pipe thermostat. The unit will likely require service, according to the information on page 23 of your owner’s manual. To make service arrangements, you may either contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000, or you can check our Repair Provider Lookup on our website, at http://www.lg.com/us/support/repair....

We regret the trouble you have experienced with this air conditioner. Typically, the filters and the water collection tank are the primary causes of this device to stop operating. It is also recommended to check the electrical supply and the circuit breakers to which the unit is connected. If all is in order, and the unit still will not operate, then the air conditioner will likely require service. To make service arrangements, you may either contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000, or you can check our Repair Provider Lookup on our website, at http://www.lg.com/us/support/repair....

We regret the trouble you have experienced with this air conditioner. If this unit does not reset its FULL status indication, once it has been drained, it would be suggested to attempt unplugging the system for about 45 seconds before reconnecting it. If it still does not reset, then the unit may require service. Question

Setting the dehumidifier

I have the LP1111wxr and I want to use it in my basement as a dehumidifier, I was wondering how you set the humidity level? I only want the machine to run when the humidity gets high and I do not want the A/C to come on to try and cool the basement down. I was wondering how to get this machine to do this.

We appreciate your interest in this portable air conditioner. This machine has not been designed to attain a specific humidity level. This model is an air conditioner, and simply has this feature to extract moisture on humid days too cool to need the cooling mode. If a dehumidifier is needed, and there is no desire for air conditioning, then it would be recommended to use the appropriate device for the task at hand.

We regret the inconvenience you have experienced with this air conditioner. Excess moisture, in this unit, is only generated by the humidity in the room. If there is an air leak in the room, then this moisture level can increase. If you believe there to be a problem with the device, then it may require service. After a while (About a month) I might hear the water in the pan, but unless it is VERY muggy out, it shouldn't have the pan fill too much. I also have a 2 year older model and it will fill an industrial cooking pot in a night with condensation. I am adding a picture. I can get a gallon in an hour if we have really high humidity. THIS one being newer, I put a boot tray under it "just in case" and still have never had a leak at the same time as it's older model is drawing large amounts of condensation. You can also pull the drain plug out and run a bit of hose down to a bucket below it like you see in the picture I have done with my older model. The picture I attached is my older model on my dresser with a bucket to collect water and the small bit of clear hose. The one inch of water in the bucket was from two hours operation with 90% humidity outside. The new one still hasn't had a full pan yet in the same time frame. I will probably get another one just because it is helpful with my asthma in how well it works. Humidity is not good for asthma sufferers

Question

Where can I purchase a replacement vent for this product?

I've had this portable air conditioner for over a year and use it all the time; however, through normal wear and movement, the hot air duct/vent is starting to get tears in it. Naturally I did some searching online, but was unable to find any definite resources for this particular product. Can you please tell me where I can find a replacement duct or what specifically I should be looking for?

Question

My unit will not cool

My unit simply will not cool, it blows the fan only even when set to cool. There are no other messages on the screen. There is no "tank full" message, the filter is clean, and the hose is connected. Since it was the first time using it in a year, I let it run for over and hour, but the cooling never happened. I set the temperature on 60 and still never felt any cold air coming from it. I don't see how the pipes could be frozen, but I tried running the fan on a high temp, but still nothing. I have no idea what else to do.

When the internal water collection tank is full, FL will appear in the display and the air conditioner will turn off until the tank is emptied. Unplug the air conditioner, disconnect the exhaust hose from the back, and move the air conditioner to a suitable drain location or outdoors. You may also place a pan under the drain that will hold up to one quart of water. Remove the drain cap and the rubber plug from the drain outlet. Once the water collection tank is drained, reinstall the rubber plug and the drain cap, making sure it is on securely.

We appreciate your interest in this air conditioner. The condenser has no moving parts of its own. The compressor, however, will circulate the coolant through both the condenser and evaporator. When this happens, cooling and dehumidifying can be accomplished. If the fan is not running, then no cooling will be noticed. If the fan does not work, then the unit will likely require service. Your air conditioner is designed for year-round operation with only minimal cleaning and maintenance. For maximum efficiency, it is recommended that you have the cooling coils inspected and cleaned annually. Wipe the case with a slightly damp cloth, then wipe it dry with a clean, dry cloth or towel. The air filter should be cleaned every two weeks depending on the indoor air quality. Information on this operation can be found on page 19 of the owner’s manual.

Question

Once the exhaust hose has been connected to the window vent, can it be removed and re-installed?

Planning to use this unit in my garage to cool a woodworking shop (well-insulated with an awesome dust collection system, BTW). Two windows are available for venting; the one I'd like to use for this system is right in front of where I park my truck and there wouldn't be room for the truck if the unit stays hooked up. While I can leave the window vent kit in place all summer, I want to be able to disconnect and reconnect the unit and move it so I can park my truck. Is this posible?

We remove ours for the winter. It comes with a foam strip with sticky-back tape to attach to the window sill, which cannot be removed. It's ugly but we leave it there even when the A/C unit is put away. Other than that, it's fairly easy to remove and reinstall as needed.
