Questions to help with mounting on wall

Our 47LK520 won't be available for pick-up until next week. I'd like to start setting things up for it to be mounted on the wall. To assist with this, it would be helpful to know a few things.
1) Are TV mounting holes centered vertically?
2) How long is the power cord?
3) is the power cord located on a different area than the rest of the outputs on the back of the tv?

The mounting points are not always going to be located in the center of the TV vertically. The power cord should be a standard 4 foot power cable. And yes, the power cord is positioned separately from the rest of the connection panel.

Can you disable the 120hz refresh rate?

I hate watching movies filmed at 24p with a high refresh rate and image interpolation. It makes fine cinema look TOO realistic, like a cheap soap opera. Is the 120hz refresh rate something that can be disabled to view movies at the standard 60hz?

Yes, you can turn off the TruMotion feature. You can find the option to do so in your TV's PICTURE menu.

When the lighting in the surrounding area dims, the brightness of the screen will also dim, based on the configuration of the Intelligent Sensor feature. This can be turned off in the PICTURE menu screen.

Since the LK520 does not have Real Ciema technology.

What would be the best settings for watching DVD's? I remember reading that the anti judder setting should be high and the anti blur setting should be low. What are your suggestions to best deal with the dreaded 'soap opera' effect? Or should TruMotion be turned off altogether?

So often, it seems that people’s opinions differ on what settings look “best”. As such, it would be difficult for me to tell you what you would think looks the best. The Real Cinema technology is more likely to be found on the player, rather than on the TV. As for the TV settings, the simplest method for adjusting the picture would be to utilize the PICTURE WIZARD feature, and/or the Intelligent Sensor to automatically configure the screen according to the surrounding conditions.

The remote control that was provided with this television is only designed to control the TV, and possibly a SimpLink-enabled device, such as a BluRay player. However, a satellite receiver is not such a device. As such, it will not be possible for this remote control to control the satellite box.

We cannot recommend any particular cleaner. To remove dust or light dirt, wipe the surface with a dry, clean, and soft cloth. To remove major dirt, wipe the surface with a soft cloth dampened in clean water or a diluted mild detergent, then wipe immediately with a dry cloth.

Question

How to display 1920x1080 through VGA connection?

I connected my computer to the 47LK520 through VGA connection, and when I set it to 1920x1080 resolution, the pixels do not map 1:1 on my TV screen. Rather, there is a 2-3" wide black bar on the left-hand side of the screen and the top and bottom don't align either. I tried adjusting the picture in the TV menu, but this is only for minor adjustments and not 2-3" to the left. I have it set to 1360x768 and it is displaying properly. How can I achieve the 1920x1080 resolution through VGA?

We regret the trouble you have experienced with this connection. Check your VGA cable to make sure that none of the pins are bent. Bent pins can distort the picture as well as the alignment. According to the owner’s manual for the 47LK520 television, the mounting requirements for this unit use a standard M6 machine screw. The length of the screws will depends on the thickness of the bracket, as well as the depth of any spacers being used.

The ACL listing is simply LCD in French. Some sales locations, such as Canada, require both English and French on the packaging. As such, certain boxes, sold in Canada, will show both LCD TV and ACL TV.

While audio files can be heard from some USB connected devices, a name-brand iPod will not be compatible with this television. It is the design of iPod, as well as the related Apple/Mac-based devices, to require specialized software and licensing for compatibility. This television was not designed with the software or licenses required to operate with iPod.
